~ Welcome to my ~
Merry Day #10....
are you proud of me and my dedication to this blog these Merry Days?
😂😂😂😂
Even if you are not, I sure am! I haven't had this much fun, nor this much to say in a long time. I am feeling good about getting back to the "old way" I used to do things, getting back to Vonna.
Today is Friday....
so that means in Vonna's world cleaning day.
I have a love hate relationship with cleaning. I love, love, love my home to be spotless and pretty much 90% of the time it is. I do a quick run through clean up every day which keeps things in their "place" and about every other week (if not sooner) I have a really deep clean which means, dust, sweep, mop, change sheets, all that good stuff and today is THE day. I don't like the doing...I just enjoy the results.
Since it is cleaning day, I'm going to have just a quick blog post today sharing with you some sweeties that I've finished up over the last couple of days.
Last night I attended my quilt guild's Christmas meeting and "party"....
we were to make 2 "mug rugs" fancy word for a coaster to exchange. Here was what I made for the party:
Then....
A wonderful surprise showed up on my doorstep from a very wonderful, kind and generous friend:
The Bigfoot ornament is just precious....
you see I'm a Bigfoot fan. I have read all the books, watched all the shows, listen to all the podcasts. The whole subject fascinates me. And the darling stitched Prairie Schooler Snowman....what could be better? Robin has wonderful seasonal trees that she displays and if I am not mistaken it started with a Snowman tree. I always hate to take down Christmas. It make me sad. So I have tried the last couple of years...to ease into days without Christmas by leaving a small lit tree out and putting snowflakes on it. Robin's inspiration has pushed me to focus on snowmen throughout the year and I am hopeful I can have a real snowman tree by next January. My PS Santa tree was just a thought several years ago and I made it a reality in one year, I can do that again with snowmen :)
Right?!
I've done some more Christmas finishing....
so I thought I'd share:
So there you go....
sprinkles of sorts of things today!
Off I go to deep clean my house....
thank God Keith took off today because that means I'll get done in half the time - he always helps me - isn't he the cats meow!?
Merry Day #10
Merry Christmas!
All my love,
Vonna xxxx
Love your Merry Days. Have missed reading your posting about life and stitching. I also need to get to some cleaning and finish decorating for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Vonna & Family: I think a snowman tree is a wonderful idea, you could leave it up all year and change the seasons.
ReplyDeleteLovely fishing on the ornaments.
Merry Christmas
Catherine
Keith is definitely a keeper!!!! Tried your suggestion with the Mr Clean magic eraser and man does it do a good job. My niece introduced me to a product called Wet and Forger Shower cleaner (Home Depot) and it also works wonders. Your finishing is just awesome! Motivates me to keep stitching. I'm so happy for you and me that the "old" Vonna is back
ReplyDeleteI've saw that Wet and Forger and wondered. I'm going to buy some! THANK YOU!!
DeleteI love the quilt pattern but do not know where to buy the pattern
ReplyDeleteKeith is definitely the cat's meow! He joins Bruce in that arena! When you and Keith are finished there, would you come here?
ReplyDeleteOh Vonna, I am thrilled to hear that the 'old' Vonna is back. I have enjoyed your Merry posts (I love all your posts), but the enthusiasm and sparkle are back.
And yes, you will make your snowman tree a reality. I am touched that I have inspired you as you have definitely inspired me through the years.
What fabulous finishes you have created for your clients! Love everything especially the trees.
LOVE LOVE the "old Vonna". You always share so many wonderful things and expect nothing in return. Hopefully anyone using your ideas will give you credit!
ReplyDeleteI understand why you left the stand reviews, but I do hope you will go back to them when time allows. I have read them carefully, and you said you would tell us your three favorites when you had completed the reviews. I would like to know your opinion, as I do not own a stand but am interested in purchasing one. Carol in Texas
ReplyDeleteyes, you can definitely have a separate snowman tree that stays up all winter! I love the bigfoot ornament.
ReplyDeleteHi Vonna - I love reading your posts again! They're inspiring! I love the cardinal ornaments you've finished in this post - do you know which Heart in Hand pattern it is? Looking forward to all the rest you have to share with us!
ReplyDeleteOh, Vonna, I love you to bits, I have now fallen down the Snowman "rabbit-hole"! I haven't finished the PS Santas yet, what's a girl to do??? I love your Merry blogging, I know that it is impossible to do this 365 days a year, but I love when you get a chance to keep us informed of your beautiful self and your family. With much love and hugs from Arizoa
ReplyDeleteThat Robin! What darling ornaments!
ReplyDeleteVonna,
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy catching up with all your family and life activities but I'm not very tech savvy so comment infrequently. I wish you and your family a Blessed and Holy Advent and Christmas. May 2022 bring all of you health and happiness.
