~ Greetings and Warm Welcome, Friends ~
to my blog....
to my blog....
Maine....
Keith, Ellie and I enjoyed a fantastic and beautiful two week vacation in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine (it was really too long...ha ha ha! I was ready to come home at about 9 days, I missed my castle, my big kids and my cats.)
So many gorgeous, fun filled....albeit exhausting days in beautiful, sunny Maine. We rented a home in Ellsworth, Maine and drove into Bar Harbor each day. We enjoyed Acadia National Park, we drove Hwy 1 South one day visiting several lighthouses along the coast, we ate lobster, drove Hwy 1 all the way to Canadian border and then drove into the interior of the state visiting Baxter State Park. We ate LOADS of Whoopie Pies - a Maine state treat. Drank Moxie. Had blueberry pancakes, muffins, tarts and ice cream. Saw WHALES! and just had a generally great time being together.

Happiest he was outside of hiking:
Before we came home we spent a very short time in Salem, Massachusetts - I so longed to see it to see the history of the place - I found it disappointing and not at all what I expected so we left early and headed to Niagara Falls.
We had such a great vacation! SO FUN! we were SO EXHAUSTED could you tell from these last pictures on our last day of vacation?! ha ha ha!
Well folks....that does it!
Ellie is already back in school - she's had 3 days back already starting August 3.
I have entered my needle work in the county fair and have results from there.
I have entered my needle work in our state fair and we are going to up to see their results today!
Ellie has entered her art work in the county fair and she swept it and her work was sent to state fair.
And Ellie had her 17th birthday last evening!
I will share a blog post about these last couple of adventures as soon as I get a chance and then I think that will bring you up to date on our family life.
I HAVE been stitching! Next blog post will share LOTS of stitching!
I HAVE been finishing too! I just completed my 225th client finish of this year....I think that is very respectable for 7 months of finishing, especially after the jam packed year I've had to date. Packages continue to flow in...and I am behind - l like always. Doing finishing is a lot of very finite detailed work. I spend a lot of time on small details, details that most people don't realize contribute to the overall finish. But I take pride in my work and go as slow and methodical as I can as it then brings honor to my client's work and that is what I am most trying to bring honor to...the time and work spent by my clients to create their piece - so that it may live on as a heirloom.
Link above in my header will send you to my Flickr album where you can see what I've done this year...and other years....in the way of finishing. My clients never cease to inspire me, and I think their work will inspire you as well.
Until my next update with stitching....
may you stitch in good health!
Love in stitches,
Vonna xxxx

Love your Maine pictures. That is my top want to go to place and my husband doesn't have a bid interest in going. Maybe someday but I doubt it. Looks so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVonna, I enjoyed seeing the recap of your vacation pictures here. It looks like you had an incredible time with the beautiful views/scenery, food and of course, time spent with loved ones. I had to chuckle when you wrote you were ready on day 9 to go home. Enjoy your weekend!
