~ Greetings and Warm Welcome to my blog ~
where I share all things needle and thread (and a whole lotta of other stuff thrown in too!)
Sorry for the missing in action....
I have been working and when I haven't been at the quilt shop I am going to be honest, I have used every minute for things I want to do. It's my new life goal to intersperse my working all the time with some Vonna time. I don't do that enough - never have.
So what have I been up to:
STITCHING:
My Anniversary Sampler Progress
32 ct. natural linen - using DMC
I am wildly changing somethings in the sampler as I stitch, including making some color substitutions
My progress on Santa of the Forest:
32 ct. natural using DMC and Kreinik
FINISHES:
Michelle Palmer "Stitching Bird"
punched with all DMC
Country Cottage Needleworks ~ January Sampler Month
finish features wool felt accents and handmade piping
That does it for needle and thread type of crafting....
now its on to my NEW crafting...(like I need another hobby...)
I have always wanted to learn how to paint. So thanks to Christmas money I got myself some brushes, paints and courage to try:
First Project ~ RAK Santa's by Tracy Moreau
learned some lessons on the above little sweeties and determined I needed to buckle down and really learn what I was doing. So I read some more, watched some more: Sara at myserenitycrafts
and I got down to trying again.
Santa's Cookies from Plum Purdy
Santa was better, I learned how to float better with Santa...so this past weekend I tried again:
The snowman looks OK, I need to have a lighter hand with the evergreen boughs...but whatever I'm a beginner.
I got a Christmas bonus so I purchased my very own scroll saw and I cut this little ornament myself and painted it.
"Flying Santa" by Lynne Andrews
I'm really proud of how my Santa ornament turned out!
YAY!! 🥳
What else....
I've been working a lot at the quilt shop (my coworker was exposed to COVID so I'm filling in for her and also doing my shifts for 3 weeks) and of course I am back in the saddle again on finishing:
all of these and about a dozen more that I'll share later was finished this month.
Alrighty friends,
I think you are up to speed with my life.
Until next time:
keep a smile on your face and one in your heart and you just can't go wrong!
Smiles, love and big hugs,
Vonna xxxx
