Honesty is the best policy....

~ Greetings and Warm Welcome ~
to all my stitching and blogging buddies!

Well 2015...
here and gone! Seems to go like water through my fingers with each passing year.
It has not been a bad year...I can find good in every year. Life is hard even in the best of times, but with a thankful heart you can see that even in struggles you are blessed. There's been some struggles, but honestly I am so very richly blessed, I can really only see the good in life.

At Christmas Morning Mass...
My four children were the altar servers. Ellie has been in training for about 6 weeks and finally all 4 got to serve together. I was singing in the "choir" which was really an ensemble of myself and 2 other women. I'm the soprano and I nearly faltered when I saw them all walk out together the first time. Brought a tear to their Mama's eye. Gosh, I love them so!

Like the title of this post says: Honesty is the best policy...
 and I'm not setting goals!

I've learned a lot in life as I've gotten older and one of them is this:
I do better just following the road of my life rather than planning my course by map.
Navigation by life's UPS and the best course to follow in my opinion.
Of course I have goals...but they are loose. I just want to enjoy my life. I've already accomplished my major life goals, college education, marriage, kids...
What I want to work on is my head...
and my heart. But that is a day to day, one foot in front of the other, re-evaluation and honesty.
never ending.

With that in mind, here's what I'd "like" to stitch this year...

Summer House Stitche Workes
"Calico Sampler"

Prairie Moon
"Peace on Earth"

Heartstring Samplery
"His Eye is on the Sparrow"

I stitched this 20 years ago for my my husband wants one for us...
"Amid Amish Life"
(found in the old Cross Stitching and Country Crafts magazine)
Amid Amish Life

I'd like to add to my Prairie Schooler Santa Tree...
I'd like to start stitching snowmen for a Snowman Tree...
(to keep out all winter it is depressing to take Christmas down and have no fairy lights)

Katie is graduating in May...
do I stitch her a sampler to commemorate that? Starting her own adult life? I don't know...I'm conflicted on that...suggestions on if I should and if I should do you have suggestions on charts? I don't want any hoakey graduation caps. I thought once about doing "Crazy Socks" by Rosewood Manor for her as she is definitely into wearing crazy socks. She has hundreds of pairs...

We will see where my road goes in 2016!! It will be an exciting adventure, I have no doubt.

I want to wish all of you a very merry, blessed New Year!
I hope that you all have a safe holiday.
I hope that we all can live up to being the best we can be and attain all that we dream, with health and happiness!

**I am starting my new prayer journal**
and already have some families and intentions written down in there...
May I pray for you?
Just drop me a private e-mail and I will glad to write your name and intentions in my journal and pray for you and your intentions. It is my honor. There were so many requests last year and most people I have not heard from...but I know that heaven hears the whisper of prayers.

Until next time...
let's get our New Year stitch on!

Happy New Year!

May we keep our hands to work and our heart to God...
while we strive to be the best ME we can be,
while loving our neighbors as ourselves,
and to our own self be true...
we want to BE the change, we want to SEE in this world!

OUT with the Old and IN with the New...

~ Welcome Friends ~
Over the last couple of days before we come to a new year, I find myself reflecting on the past year and thinking of ways to improve myself.

I know we all do it...
although I do find myself, as I age, to do this more frequently than just the proverbial
New Year Resolutions.
I think it is good to re-evaluate throughout the year.
Don't you?
~ to BE the Change you want to SEE in the world ~

With that said...
Today while I was perusing Pinterest to see what kind of crafty, kitchen goodness I could get myself into for the New Year...
I found many followers and friends of mine have pinned cross stitch patterns that are clearly copyright protected. Many of these come from a place that is an infringement website.
I think that this is just an oversight on many of my friends part.
Most of these pins are new designs, readily available by designers still trying to make an honest income through their work.

This is an example of one I found today....most will clearly have copyright information right on the pin.
MOST of these come from an infringing website with the address:

There have been many designers that have quit the business because of the their work being stolen in this way. Why continue if people are going to steal bread from their table? I can understand how upsetting/how disappointing this would be to them.

Please, please...
go through your Pinterest pins. Please delete those that are obvious infringements. Turn in pins to Pinterest officials by reporting the pin.

I don't want to see designers that I love leave this industry.
PLEASE be an advocate!

Until next time...
let's together BE the change we want to SEE...
Hugs in stitches,

December 26...

~ Greetings and Warmest Wishes ~
on this day after the Merry festivities...

It is my most sincere wish that each of you had a...
Pineberry Lane 2

On December 21...
I was going through all my stash and reorganizing it from my year of stitching and finishing....
It was a mess down in the old finishing and stash cave. My goodness!

Pineberry Lane

of course I was dreaming...because I never am far away from that reality!
 What was I dreaming about?
Well what my plans and stitching goals that I'd like to accomplish in the New Year.
I didn't get too far in my personal stitching this year.
Between finishing for clients and model stitching and finishing and working outside the home and all the other 1001 things that compete for my time...
I didn't have such a successful year in stitching. In was a little lean.
One goal is to make time and stitch for me.
I'm my biggest fan....
I deserve some of my creations in my house!

with my mind made up, I pulled out this pattern that I had been hoarding...(I've mentioned I'm a hoarder) well...I am!

"Bringing Home the Tree"
Pineberry Lane

Stitched on 32 ct. raw linen using DMC as called for in pattern

Pineberry Lane_Bringing Home the Tree

I adore it....
and finally after sitting on it for years and admiring everyone else's finished forests...
it is mine.
It was quick...just really about 10 hours and it was done!

Pinberry Lane Bringing Home the Tree

This one....
shall be framed in a black frame I'm thinking with just a touch or tarnished gold bead around the inside is what I'm envisioning. I hope my LNS has something perfect!
I'm sure they will...

Until next time my dear friends....
I am going to be dreaming...
and keeping my hands to work and my heart to God.... just like always.
As I try to be the change, I want to see in this world.
Treating my neighbor as myself...
To thine own self be true...
I am blessed!
and you are too...

Day 22...

Day 22...
I would like to share with you, the gift I give myself all year long: AUDIBLE
are you a listener? Boy I am. I used to be a HUGE reader. But my husband doesn't like the light on in bed, and I like to read best, right before bed, so that doesn't make for good bed partners :)

Let's be honest here peeps, I am no busier than most, but I meet myself coming and going on MOST days. I'm as honest as the day is long and I'm not embellishing how much goes on here in my house on any given day. Plus...if you are my friend on FB, you know that I'm going, going, going like the energizer bunny. My friend Ann says I'm going to drop dead one of these days if I don't take a break. But then Ann doesn't realize, I've been like this for 45 years. God made me this way. I embrace it! Downloading a book and listening while I work, while I drive, while I stitch (you don't know how much stitching you can whiz through by never having your eyes leave your work and just sitting and having a story read to you)...AMAZING!

If you give it a go....
or if you are a member, this book recommended to me by my Sandi! (HI SANDI!)
is excellent! I'm not done yet...but really a good story.

Here is something I don't think I shared before on here.
I finished one just like this earlier this summer for a client. Loved how it turned out and bought the chart and repeated it for a gift for a special family friend.

the design is Lizzie*Kate 2014 Santa and it is still available. Here is the chart picture:

I love how this looks so....I will be re-stitching this and repeating it for ME! and finishing it the very same way for a THREE-PEAT finishing :)

that does it for DAY 22!!

Until Day 23...
I'll be keeping my hands to work..
my heart to God..
while treating my neighbor with kindness and respect,
and trying to be the best me I can be.
It's hard, isn't it?
I may stumble and I may fall, but I pick myself up and I remember:
To thine own self be true...
I want to BE the change I want to SEE.
Join me!

Merry Christmas,
