My Ship has come...

Greetings friends...
my ship has come in...finally! May I introduce my:

2013 New Year's Eve Start
"Shores of Hawk Run Hollow"
by Carriage House Samplings

SHRH big boat 1

I started...
this beauty on New Year's Eve ringing in 2013 with my family. It wasn't the project I was going to start on NYE, however my husband loves this design and it will go perfectly in our Beach/Ocean themed *sigh* I did it for love. A girl's gotta do what a girls gotta do....

SHRH big boat water

I love...
SHRH big boat anchorthe sails of the ship. I think they look regal and majestic! And the compass and the anchor...pretty, pretty! Although before I got stitching the water (looks benign enough, but...) I was about ready to tie myself to that anchor and take the plunge. My X after blue X! Took me days! Because I kept getting up and running off, rather than fill in the water. Finally I tied myself to my chair and got 'er done!

I'm planning...
on stitching one block a month. Easy right?! We will see at the end of December 2013. :) I fail on many levels when it comes to very large projects such as these. But as of today, February 28, I am right on schedule! Since this counts as TWO blocks, Block #6 and Block #7...that's two down and ten to go! Rah, RAh, RAH!!!!

What's next?...
Hmm....I'll give you a involves a Sheep and a some Hearts.... ;o)

Until next time...
my dear stitching and blogging buddies, I'll be keeping my hands to work and my heart to God, just like always!

Hugs in stitches,

Have you seen...

"Think Big"
by Country Cottage Needleworks ~ Nikki Leeman
I stitched the model and finished it for Nikki.
Isn't it ADORABLE!?!?!

"Orchard Valley Quilting Bee"
by Little House Needleworks ~ Diane Williams
I stitched this model for Diane. It is a biggie! I started in June and finished in late September.
I stitched exclusively on it during those months. And I must say that I enjoyed each and every stitch. The finished product, as you can see, is simply cute as a button. I am proud to tell you that this very model now hangs proudly in my entry way and I am SO in love with it :)

and finally....
what about the NEW Little House Series...
"Hometown Holiday"
oh still my heart! :)

Fit for a Princess...

A warm welcome to all my blogging buddies and stitching friends! I had a finish that was gifted today and I'd like to share it with you all!
Ellie has a little friend and her birthday party was today. Little Kaycee is such a sweet little girl, and she's always very interested in my stitching when she comes over to visit us. So I decided for her birthday I would make her a special something. I made sure to pay attention to her two favorite colors and incorporate them throughout - Hot Pink and Purple. May I present:
(however instead of "Believe" I stitched Kaycee)
design by: Little House Needleworks
found in Collaboration Silk Packet with Crescent Colours
Copyright 2009
Believe Princess _ 1
Believe Princess _ 3
Believe Princess _ 4
Believe Princess _ 2
I stitched this...
on 36 ct. R&R Cappuccino Linen, using DMC threads in my own personal color choices. I finished off this sweet design using hot pink ribbon that I rusched and bought some purple and pink sparkly beads to accent the hanging ornament, give it a little sparkle and make it shine. I so hope that Kaycee liked it and that she'll hang it in her bedroom and smile each time she sees it :)
Other than this small finish...
that I eeeked out in the early morning hours last night (1 a.m.)....I have had very little stitching time, as I'm still working lots of hours at the hospital to cover for ill colleagues. Gotta love the paycheck though ;)
Well folks...
that's it for today, hopefully I'll be back soon with another update of something or another!
Until next time...
I'll be keeping my hands to work and heart to God, just like always!

Little Sheep Virtues "Hope"...

Greetings to my fellow stitchers and blog readers!
I've gotten my week off to a positive start...please let me introduce to you:
 Little Sheep Virtues
Designed by: Little House Needleworks ~ Diane Williams
copyright 2012
stitched on 30 ct. R&R Chino
stitched with DMC as charted
Mounted on Weeks Dye Works Palomino Houndstooth Wool

What this "Little Sheep Virtue" means to me is:
"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer."
Romans 12:12
I've placed my "Hope" in my antique dough trencher...I need to get some greenery to set my sheep off! But I can just visualize my little flock of sheep reminding me of the virtues to practice in this life so that I may one day rejoice in heaven!
I'm looking very forward to the reveal of February and to stitching her and adding her in :) Two sheep makes a small flock, right?! :)
A busy week ahead....
as I unexpectedly began another week of full time work at the hospital. But I'm happy to have the extra money to contribute to the budget! So hi-ho-hi-ho its off to work I go....
Until next time my dear friends...
I'll be keeping my hands to work and heart to God, just like always as I practice hope along the way! Join me....
Hugs in stitches,
