Manic May...

Hellooooooo folks!
I'd love to post photo after photo and show you and tell you all about what is going on in my May, and let me tell you there has been A LOT, but our computer hard drive died. My husband is trying to fix it, BUT...the going is S-L-O-W...

In the meantime, I am posting this from my daughter's laptop and it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that our desktop has therefore I can't post much of anything.

However...
if you would like to see what is up with me you can see me at my Floss Tube Channel for my early May Update HERE

And I did another for the end of May: HERE

I also created another finishing video, this one is for a Mounted Flatfold. This is step by step on how to create your very own Mounted Flatfold - the finish I am using to create the Gingerbread Village Pieces for Country Cottage Needleworks models. You can access that video tutorial: HERE

In the meantime...
The Pfeiffer kids are finishing their last three days of school for the 2015-2016 school year.
Katie is getting ready to mark the end of her High School career with Graduation that will take place next Saturday, May 28th. I'm trying to be strong.... because this is what I have been doing for the past 18 years ~ preparing her to fly,  and she will soar! I know she will.
I have lots of photos to share and will have lots more, I'm sure.

Until next time...
Treat your neighbors with kindness and respect,
BE the CHANGE you want to SEE in the world, because it starts with YOU,
and finally, like I always tell my kids: Say what you mean, then DO what you say!
Until my computer is working again,
I'll be keeping my hands to work and my heart to God, just like always...
while I run myself a little bit batty ;)

Hugs in stitches,
Vonna xxxx

  2. It is always sad when the computer dies. I can't believe your children's school year is almost over. We don't end until the end of June. I have work for over another month.

  5. Hi Vonna, it's been wonderful reading your blog then following you on the videos. I really love all your finishings and your work. I have made one of your project bags and thrilled to bits with it. Many comments from friends when I take it to stitching. I made it with Tilda fabrics, crocheted a small doily to put on the front, added a couple of antique mother of pearl buttons and a lovely painted wooden dress form shape button. Quite antique looking. All thanks to you.I look forward to your next video. Best wishes for your daughter's graduation and for when she will step out in that big wide world to spread her beautiful wings.Have a great week end. Hugs

  10. Just watched your intro video and loved it. It is a motivator and I could change my schedule for today and put my stitching front and center, but I'd never get anything else accomplished. Looking forward to watching your next video. Enjoy the graduation ceremony! Make some memories.

  19. I am loving your Floss Tube videos. Congratulations to Katie on her upcoming graduation. Will she be close enough for weekend visits when she goes to college?

  20. Loved your floss tube!

All three of my kids have graduated and headed to college with two finished and out in the world. The third has just finished her sophomore year. A friend once told me that parenting is the only job where, if you've done a good job, you work yourself right out of a job. Smile, take some deep breaths, and know that you've done a good job.

  21. I just finished watching your first video, and I love it! You are so real and down to earth. Can't wait to see the other videos and hope to make a few project bags from your directions. Keep up the good work. Always love to see what you are up to.

  22. Love, love your videos Vonna. It just feels like you are right in the room with me.
You asked about the Mirabella faces 1/1. I did that on Autumn in my Garden and love the look. It is much simpler than in sounds. Each X on your pattern is changed into 4 half crosses. So no converting ahead of time just four stitches for every X.
I don't know if I'm explaining myself properly but if not please just let me know at megratunion75dotcom and I'll try to do better.
Have a wonderful weekend as your lovely daughter graduates.

  25. Hello Vonna,

Have enjoyed watching your second vlog post and seeing what you've
been up to. I also enjoy watching your "finishing" tutorials and seeing
how you wave your magic wand to create all those wonderful flat folds,
project pouches and other amazing things. Well, it looks like magic to
    me anyways.

I'm sure you'll have no trouble stitching that celtic lady for Katie and
your colour choices will look stunning! Katie will be over the moon
when she sees it. And congratulations to her for graduating from
high school ... and to Mom and Dad for their not inconsiderable
and most able assistance with same. Hope that May 28th ... my
birthday ... and all that weekend will be a happy, memorable one
for Katie and all her fellow grads.

Hope that Keith will be able to work his own brand of magic to
get your computer fixed for you Vonna. It's amazing how much
we've grown to rely on these machines in such a relatively short
time isn't it? When we don't have them readily to hand we're
    lost!

    Cheers!!

  27. Vonna, I've now watched your mounted flat fold twice and feel confident to try, you make it look easy. I just love your finishes. But I have a problem finding the light cardboard pieces that you use. What is your source for them? Thank you for all your tutorials and sharing your knowledge with all of us.
