A Primitive Stocking....

~ Greetings my dear friends and stitching buddies ~

On July 23, 2015...
I started this project, Can you tell what it is?!

DAY 1:

A Primitive Stocking TOE

See I had a friend that has stitched three of these...and I had finished them for her, I had the patterns so I thought...WHY NOT?! WHY HAVEN'T I?!

So I did!

Here's DAY 2:

A Primitive Stocking Day 2

DAY 3:

A Primitive Stocking Day 3

DAY 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 7

I snatched that puppy off my floor stand and literally RAN down the stairs and even missed the last three and fell...
*I get a little over excited....*

and twenty minutes later....

SEVEN DAYS....
start to finish and you too can build yourself a stocking!
The Lord built the world in seven days...
and we can build a stocking!
WAHOO!!!

Until next time...
I'll be keeping my heart to God,
my hands to work,
while trying to BE the best ME,
and being kind and non-judgemental to all my neighbors.
To Thine Own Self BE TRUE,
loving my neighbor as myself.
Let's do it together, making this world a more kind and a better place!
Love in stitches,
Vonna xxxx

  27. What a great stocking! We all need those quick-to-stitch projects from time to time.

BTW, it took God six days to create everything, and He rested on the seventh. :-) Maybe you did some resting after falling on the stairs! (I thought I was the only one who did dumb things like that!)

  28. Careful on those stairs. I broke my ankle on a step…oh, that's right it was an outdoor step covered with ice!!!
Love the stocking. I have had one that looks a lot like that in my WIPs pile for years, ugh! Need to get that little gem out and finish it.

  30. Man, I remember when that one came out I lusted for it... but... never got it! I still do like it!! You did a marvelous job stitching it, and then finishing it... Just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

  31. Another fun finish. Glad you are back on line! For my inspiration:). Tell us about your floor stand- how it works for you and what should we look for if we want one?

  32. It's lovely, no wonder you are so pleased with it.

  33. Really beautiful, Vonna! I am scared to death to try a stocking shaped finish...

  34. Wonderful finish, Vonna. I stitched the Noah and Sampler stockings in 40 count. I still have the Quaker stocking to stitch, but when I do I won't settle for any linen smaller than 32 count. Bonus is that the stocking will be larger and provide a little interest on the mantle.

  35. My first thought was Kathy Barrick when I saw the first two pictures. She designed some great primitive stockings. And wow, only seven days from the start to the finishing. Your needles must have been smoking, lol.

  36. Love it! It looks perfect in your decorations. :-)

  37. 7 Days! 7 Days! Did you get any sleep at all? 20 minutes for finishing?! It would take me an hour to decide on backing fabric. Great job. Very inspiring.

  38. It looks wonderful!! I probably would have missed the last three stairs too if I had this beauty to finish ;)
