Patriotic Pocket Watch...

~Greetings and a warm welcome to all of you~

Today...
I finished a wee charmer that I wanted to share with you!

You remember...
last post I shared with you the sweet thread pack from
Little House Needleworks and Classic Colorworks
entitled:
"Land of the Free"

Well...
I had an idea, and today, it came out just like I had pictured it in my mind!

"Land of the Free" Pocket Watch
Land of the Free Pocket Watch Necklace

I stitched this...
1 over 1 on 32 count Amber Linen
using, of course, the included overdyed cottons by Classic Colorworks.

Since I was only stitching the crock of flowers, I stitched the star on the crock in blue and also the bottom of the crock in blue. But you can't really see that, as the photo turned out too dark and plus it is tiny

Instead of putting it on a chain...
I just used a black satin ribbon. I am SOOOOO in love with it!

Its all ready to go....
and in plenty of time to celebrate the 4th of July!

Also...
I have a small request for those of you that would like to do a small good deed. My friend, Jan, that I spoke about a couple of posts ago has received a few cards from some of my friends that read my blog. She has been so excited about receiving them. If anyone would be so inclined to send a card to Jan to brighten her day, that would lift her spirits so much. Letting her know people care, are thinking good thoughts and praying for her. If you'd be interested, please contact me.

Until next time...
I'll be plotting and planning my next project while,
I'm keeping my hands to work and my heart to God, trying to be the best me I can be and being kind to those around me.
To thine own self be true, loving my neighbors as myself/

Love in stitches....
Vonna xxxx

  20. Hi Vonna... the pocket watch fob is wonderful... I would love to send a card or two or three to Jan. Among my many hobbies... cross stitch, knitting, quilting ...I also love to make cards. All this activity keeps me from cooking and cleaning as much as possible -- LOL! Anyway if you send me her address I'll get right on it.

Your recent comment on Stitch Bitchs rant on the Stitch from Stash SAL was a surprise to me because you end your blog posts as keeping your heart to God. Commenting on a diatribe such as that of Stitch Bitch isn't very God like. I'm disappointed and have dropped you from my blog. I guess no one has heard of the saying 'If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all'. And Stitch Bitch doesn't subscribe to that saying with her past record.

  39. Thank you kind, Anonymous. I don't know how a one word comment of "Agreed:)" that I posted on a satirical post from a fellow blogger can be viewed as my being non-Christian or not upholding my faith, but if it makes you feel better, so be it.. At least my comment was done with my name posted beside it, unlike yours. Hide behind Anonymous cyber bully, hide behind anonymous. I lost your readership? Good, I don't want cowards reading my blog.

  40. Vonna, that pocket watch is sweetness!!! I am not an American and I still want one :) And whoever Anonymous is from above needs a job or something if being mean to you is what they do with their time!
