Day 3...

~ Greetings and warm welcome to ~

Day 3 . . .
Today I have to share that:
1.) I'm going out to lunch with one of my best friends to McAllister's Deli...YUM-O
I'm craving a salad and we'll sit in the corner and nurse our sweet teas and gab for an hour or two! FUN :) I love my friends and I think they love me too.
2.) I finished another ornament and here it is....

"JOY"
from the 2011 Flora McSample Ornament Series
Designed by: Lizzie Kate
Stitched on 28 ct. Milk Chocolate linen using DMC

Lizzie Kate Flora McSample 2011_Joy

It's another to add to my tree :)

And if you think about the word "JOY" it sure does drum up a lot about this season to me! I get JOY from baking and eating, singing and laughing, being with my family, putting up my decorations, sitting in the living room with only the holiday lights shining, putting on my jammies early because its cold and snowy outside, praying and sharing my faith with my family and with others. I have a lot of JOY. Have you ever noticed that people that have JOY in their lives actually look joyful? They sparkle or shine or have some sort of something going on with their aura and you can actually see the joy? My husband and I were talking about this last night, as we know a person mutually that isn't very happy. They are sort of like Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh. She knows very little joy. She's all about doom, gloom and negativity. She honestly believes everyone is out to get her, stealing her happiness. My husband was commenting that this person wears the negativity on their face and it has actually marked their face with wrinkles and frown lines. You can see, visibly, their unhappiness written all over them. Isn't that sad? In my opinion, JOY is a state of mind and all about how you look and how you approach life. We all have thorns, road blocks and valleys in life. Like the old song says, "I never promised you a rose garden".  So anyway, I choose JOY and it is my hope that my face, my aura radiates sunshine, kindness, warmth and fun.

The tradition for today...
brings my family 25 days of JOY! And I'm going to share it with you because you all can add it to your 25 days. It is:

We look forward to this special season on ABC Family every year! WHOOP WHOOP!!! Rudolph, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Frosty, The Night Before Christmas.... oh be still my heart! In December, my kids hurry to get their homework and baths done so that they can put on their jammies and we can all enjoy the evening show! Each year since they were little we've done this, popped corn, opened a soda and enjoyed the show together.
Family time is the BEST time :)

Do you watch ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas? If not, why don't you consider watching?! Here is the link to the schedule: The Line-up for the 25 Days of Christmas on ABC Family

So....
that does it for Day 3 folks :) I bet you can't guess what tomorrow's ornament is! Ha ha :)

Until tomorrow...
I'll be keeping my hands to work and heart to God just like always!
Join me!

Love in stitches,
Vonna xxxx

  5. Beautiful ornament! Yes, we watch the ABC Christmas lineup every year! Halloween too. My daughter was just saying how she misses the Grinch. I'm happy to see my favorite The Little Drummer Boy will be on. I have the DVD too. My daughter is 19. It goes to show you that we really never 'grow' up! Thanks Vonna. Love your thoughts on Joy.

  9. I am so enjoying your 25 days of Christmas seeing your beautifully stitched and finished ornaments and learning about your Christmas traditions. One of my favorite Christmas traditions is practicing random acts of kindness with no expectation of return. When I see someone having a bad day or struggling--give them a random act of kindness. My way of getting my Christmas joy

  10. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit so when we focus on him and not on our troubles then we receive His joy and peace in our lives. Lovely ornie Vonna. Another lovely reminder to fix our eyes on Him. x

  15. Beautiful Ornament. Your post about JOY reminds me of the Childrens song we use to have the kids sing in Church.

I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart
    Where?
    Down in my heart!
    Where?
    Down in my heart!
I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart
Down in my heart to stay

    Wisahing you a wonderful Wednesday!!

  16. Such a joyful little ornament, Vonna--I need to stitch that one, too. I was just noticing how many ornaments I've stitched through the years that have "Joy" written on them :)

  19. I agree JOY is a choice and appears on our face, but I also believe we can pray for God to move in someone's life for them to see joy around them and change their heart. Thank you for sharing your traditions.

  20. Love the finish! Joy is a good thing, also being grateful for our blessings. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a Piglet. lol! But I try my best to be grateful and have joy in my life.

  21. I'll be sure to mention the ABC 25 days of Christmas to my DH - he loves those cheesy Christmas movies and watches them over and over year after year. Gees - I hope I am not one of those people who wears a frown around. I am very intense and serious and I have so much pressure on me with my job - it's hard for me to be silly and relax. I never had children so I don't have much interest in some Christmas movies. Now I do love that Christmas Story about the BB gun. Would sure love to spend 1 Christmas in the snow just 1 time in my life. Love your 25 days Vonna - thanks for the effort - I'm sure it's a commitment to do with your busy life. joy to the world ! Mel

  23. Beautiful ornament! I love the red ribbon you used. I too think Joy is a choice you make, I don't know why you would want to spend your life being unhappy, it's too short for that. My Christmas favorite is How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the cartoon version. Dr. Suess was a wise man.
