A Happy Thanksgiving...

~A hearty and blessed Thanksgiving Day to you and yours~
from The Twisted Stitcher and her kin!

May your day be filled in remembrance of all the blessings that we have experienced throughout the year and may we all pause to give thanks for all that is given unto us.

I have been absent from blogging for about a month now, but my absence was not in vain...
you shall learn more about that in a few moments.....

I recently read a blog that I have followed for a good long while, and the author asked the question: why have some long-time bloggers quit posting to their blogs or post infrequently. That is a question worth thinking on. I for one have severely cut back on blogging in the past two years for sure.

The reason for me is frankly that as the mother of four children, three of whom is teenagers and not yet driving themselves, I am very busy. I also like to show stitched finishes rather than "works in progress" but I have come to the conclusion that I am going to try to post more frequently than I have over the past few years because I enjoy blogging and I enjoy you, and hearing from you!

I try to visit many blogs and I truly try to leave a comment on most that I visit. I don't always get it done, but I do give it the good try as much as I can. I know how much a comment that I receive means to me: lifts my spirits, brings a smile, etc. I understand that for myself and I truly try to leave a comment to cheer on those fellow needleworkers that I follow to let them know I'm reading and encourage their efforts.

In my thanksgiving for all of you that have followed me through the years, I have been working very hard over the past 6 weeks to come up with 25 finished projects to showcase on the:

I had this "good" idea a mere 6 weeks ago, and although not everything is "completed" yet, I think for the most part I will have 25 projects to showcase each day starting December 1 and going through December 25. What will you see, you ask? Well, you will see a tutorial or two, ornaments (of course), home craft projects, decorating ideas, recipes, traditions that my family honor and a myriad of other good stuff that I may come up with as I go along. I hoping to pull a couple of rabbits out of my hat for sure, probably turn a couple of sow ears into a silk purse. I may have some horrendous flops. Who know?! Not even me! But hopefully St. Nick will have my back! I even have some Christmas Gifts I'm going to share with some lucky readers all lined up! If it turns out half as good as I have in my mind, I'll be happy...cause I dream big!

So to all my faithful followers out there in blogland please come back and visit starting on the very first day of December, hopefully I won't disappoint you!

Until next time....
may your blessings be counted, your tummies be full and your heart filled with those loved ones gathered around your hearth!
See you December 1st, same bat time, same bat channel!

Happy Thanksgiving!

  42. I like this idea! I may just try the same thing but without any time to plan I might fall short of 25 posts. We'll see. I have a few things I haven't posted about yet so maybe I can fill in with random finishes or WIP's.

  63. As someone who abandoned her blog for well over a year I know what you mean Vonna. I am back to updating my blog partly because I like keeping a record of my every day activities even if I don't have a stitching project or something else crafty to report on. I'm trying not to be a perfectionist about my posts and if it's a short post, well ... it's a short post. But I like connecting with other bloggers and seeing their blogs and their craft updates encourages me to get back into my own crafty pursuits. I too am surprised by how many long time bloggers have gone silent since my own hiatus. I enjoy your blog, love hearing about your kids, and your cats, and your wonderful stitching and finishing Vonna. Just remember ... blogging without guilt. If you can .. you can ... if you can't ... don't worry about it. We'll wait. Cheers!

  66. I'm so happy to see that you're back for the holidays! I only have very limited time to read my favorite blogs (yours counted as one of the tops) and have had no time at all to even write. And I do miss it. My daughter has welcomed a second foster child into her family (a baby girl) and will have the little boy for a few more months. It has made my job as Nana and Babysitter super busy and sometimes a little overwhelming. I will enjoy my little escape to your blog each day till Christmas. :) Blessings to you and yours!

  67. I admit it--I did miss seeing posts from you. I understand about familial obligations tho. We all have lives to attend to, whether it is with a grouping of teenagers, toddlers or a grumpy old husband like mine! :) I am going backwards in reading blogs tonight, so have already enjoyed two of your Christmas postings already. I have ALWAYS enjoyed seeing what you stitched, so this is gonna be fun! Hugs!
