I hope this Monday finds you all well and blissfully starting the new week! It is a dreary, gray day here in Indiana with spitting snow and plummeting temperatures, but inside "das Sampler Haus" it is bright and cheery! Especially with the finish of this beauty:
by Diane Williams
Stitched on: 28 ct. Vintage Examplar
Fibers: DMC as charted
To be framed for my Adam and Eve Wall
**(this design is an oldie that may found in the Praying Hands booklet (Leisure Arts) entitled: Beloved Bible Story Samplers")
Nope....
this isn't a school girl sampler, or a reproduction Adam and Eve, but I think it's simplicity and sweet design elements will compliment my wall very nicely. And being that it was designed by Diane Williams of Little House Needleworks...well....we all know how I feel about her designs....
This....
little sweetie shall be placed away until another 50% framing deal comes up somewhere and when Mama has a little "mad" money to blow. I've been going a little overboard of late between organizers, new clothes, home decor, my monthly fingernail fill-ins, etc. The old Catholic guilt is creeping up to swallow me! So that means one thing - tighten your belt Mama! :)
Hmmm....
what will Vonna stitch next? I've got something pulled and it'll be a goodie! You'll just have to wait and see....
Until next time....
hands to work and hearts to God! Love and hugs, Vonna
Oh, that's LOVELY Vonna - great finish! Love it!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what's next!
Congrats on your finish. It is lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet finish Vonna!
ReplyDeleteGreat finish Vonna!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great finish Vonna! Oh that money can go fast can't it?
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful finish - it will definitely look good on your sampler wall!
ReplyDeleteOh what a sweet finish Vonna. This is the first time I have ever seen that design. It sure is a sweet one.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and cozy look forward to see what your needle has for us next time :)
I don't think you have to be Catholic to feel that too-many-treats guilt. (But, then, I did go to a Catholic Elementary...)
ReplyDeleteWhy don't we think we deserve it, eh? I still think you're prudent to wait a week or two for the extra-good coupon. ;) The time will just fly by!
Now, if only my guilt would leave me alone until AFTER I purchase that cut of linen! I SWEAR I'll be good after that! :D :D :D
What a lovely finish, Vonna!
ReplyDeleteI Love it!
What a great addition to the A&E wall
Wonderful finish, I think I have this booklet somewhere. Sometimes that money can go out faster than it comes in :)
ReplyDeleteA wonderful finish.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish! I look forward to seeing what your next project will be.
ReplyDeleteLovely sampler Vonna!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful finish
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little finish, Vonna. After reading your post, I immediately went online to see if that chart was still available. I was thrilled to discover that it is. I'm crazy about Diane Williams' stuff too, so I'll be adding that chart to my stash. Thanks for the enabling!
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, let me do a little enabling for you - my local Michael's is offering 55% off custom framing. I'm just saying...
That did turn out very cute, can't wait to see what you stitch on next. I would get a lot of stitching done too if I had that comfy cozy setup you have for your stitching. I need a chair like yours!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You are on quite a stitching roll :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie A &E!
ReplyDeleteGreat finish Vonna. I think it will be a wonderful addition to your "sampler" wall.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what's on your qsnaps next.
BrendaS
Oh, that is so lovely. I think I need to add that to my stash for a later day to stitch. It is so cute.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel quilty - I know us Catholics can feel like that - but heck, we're the cog in the wheel, we're the ones that take care of everyone. Go forth and get that beautiful piece framed!
ReplyDeleteOkay, that probably didn't convince, you, but I do love your piece. It really came out great!
That's a lovely sampler and will make a great addition to the A&E (and I suppose I could mean Arts and Entertainment, but of course I don't) wall.
ReplyDeleteThe stitchy stuff just comes pulling at our purse strings all the time, doesn't it?
Wow!!! This is beautiful!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish Vonna - love it. x
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I love Diane Williams designs, too. Have fun with your next project.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty finish!
ReplyDeleteLovely finish ... I suggest you get that piece framed before the quintessential Catholic guilt season starts with Ash Wednesday ... Feb 17th isn't all that far away!!! Once Lent starts, who knows when you'll feel like splurging again. So do the Mardi Gras deal and splurge before the 40 days of self-denial.
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHH Vonna You did manage to fire me up on my bead problem, please do not do the Catholic guilt thing I used to do that all the time, Father Victor said that as long as you take care of your obligations as a christian you can have many guilts. I remember in school I was the class clown and when you heard Mother Superior coming down the hall and her rosasry was hitting her leg you knew she was coming after me, I stood on my tippy toes many times with gum on my nose at the blackboard.
ReplyDeleteI just love your blog site and come almost everyday to see waht is new with you.
Got Bless you and all of the U.S.A.
Catherine
Beautiful finish of a lovely design! I love the Adam & Eve on this one.
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful, Vonna! Congratulations ~ can't wait to see your next choice!
ReplyDeleteI can sympathize with you on the guilt thing. I think it's a bit of a mom thing too. It is a beautiful finish.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! I love Adam and Eve themes but to also have sheep makes this very desirable to me. I collect sheepy things. ;o)
ReplyDeleteLove Diane's designs and really love your stitching. Beautiful finish!
Love it! I actually have this booklet - I'm going to have to go back and check it again!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty finish Vonna!

ReplyDeleteOh wow! Now that's one A&E I've never seen! It's lovely! Congrats -- don't you love stitching A&Es? I do! My son did a double take today when he saw Margaret Pence sitting all done and me stitching away on another A&E. lol!

ReplyDeleteooh.. how very sweet! You just enabled SO many of us Vonna! :)
ReplyDeleteHugs.
It's gray and raining here in E. Washington, making me want to hibernate a bit, or go sit and stitch!! There are a couple things I need to do, then I'll indulge. :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice little finish there, my friend!

This is just wonderful Vonna! I can't wait to see your A&E wall. I guess I know what I will be adding to my next order! LOL. I have several biggies in the works right now that I think I will just take my time on and do some smaller pieces for quicker finishes!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty! Another lovely finish.
ReplyDeleteNice finish! Thanks for replying to my question so fast! I sent the link on to DH, so I'll see if I get one! I also finished my first round tin yesterday and thought of you and all the finishing you do. I'm getting braver about trying new things!
ReplyDeleteVonna your stitching is impeccable as always. I really like this one, and the sheep, I <3 sheep!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. I love the word Creation in red.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it, Vonna! Can't wait to see what you've picked up as your next project!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Vonna!
ReplyDeleteI am loving this game of surprise stitching. :) Every time I see Twisted Stitcher pop up in my reader, I am immediately clicking to see what project you are showing next. I absolutely LOVE this one. I have never seen this one before. How sweet and pretty!! Can't wait to see what you have coming up next.
ReplyDeleteHave a great stitchy week ahead!
What a lovely little sampler! Thank you for sharing. I have enjoyed reading your blog and look forward to seeing your next project!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous finish, Vonna!
ReplyDeleteHi Vonna,
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the first picture
of your latest finish I thought to
myself that it surely must be a
LHN design, but I don't recall
ever seeing it before. Then I
read your post and discovered that
I was right about the designer,
and I was right that I'd never
seen it before. What a lovely
design and a great addition to
your Adam and Eve collection.
It's always fun to see other
stitchers stitching corners
and their storage systems,
and their stitching equipment.
I've been toying with the idea
of getting a floor stand some
day and since I'm like you and
prefer to use Q-snaps I need
a stand that will accommodate
them. Your stand looks quite
smart and I'll file the info
you've provided away for future
reference. Thank you.
That 15 drawer organizer is a
beauty and fits that space
perfectly. I wonder if it's
available up here???
Your first square for the
Prairie Schooler alphabet is
so pretty and colorful. A
nice beginning for this SAL
for you.
So you've been buying new
clothes eh?? Good for you.
It's a great feeling isn't
it??
Looking forward to seeing your
next project, as always.
Take care. Cheers!
Soft colors and oh so pretty, Vonna!
ReplyDeleteTanya
Lovely! Nicely done.
ReplyDeletecongrats on your beautiful finish
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely finish! Come on, Mama, you deserve these little things - especially when you're waiting for coupons!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely finish, congratulations! Thanks also for sharing the photos of your stitching area, it looks very cozy and practical :)
ReplyDeleteOh, what a pretty! Lovely finish Vonna.
ReplyDeleteI had not seen that before, really nice! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful finish! A great addition to your A&E sampler wall.
ReplyDeleteWoot! I love your latest A&E! It looks great. I think I have this somewhere, I must go hunt it down. Great finish! I agree with your previous posters, too, btw. Go and get that framed! Look at it as a house expense rather than a stitching expense. LOL I can rationalize just about anything!
ReplyDeleteI love it Vonna! It's such a sweet piece.
