A tisket, a tasket, a kitty in my basket...

Hello sweet friends! I've been neglegient in my posting about this most lovely of sweet gifts that I received from my friend, Harmien. Its a little friend for Chatty :)

Isn't he lovely? I absolutely love it and when I received it, was during some dark days - so a smile he brought with him all the way from the Netherlands. I cannot tell you what he means to me. Thank you dear Harmien!

I sure haven't been doing any stitching :o( But I've been doing a lot of creating and finishing! There are a couple of new finishes that I've come up with for The Twisted Stitcher's Finishing Service I now can create for stitchers Wall Hangings custom made to my client's specifications. And a Front Double Mount Flatfold (or Flatfold *B* as I'm calling it at my service) - this first one I made turned out really, really cute...I see a lot of those in my future with my own finishes!

On a personal note - my Mama and I started a lifestyle change on Ash Wednesday. I'm proud to report that 1 week in - I've lost 14 lbs! I couldn't be happier. I know that it won't drop off this fast from here on out, but I am pleasantly surprised at just how good I feel about "being hungry"! LOL! :o) It's a hard, long battle I've got in front of me, but I am resolute in my mind, my will is firm and I shall conquer this one thing that has alluded me the past 10 years. I've never in my life not been able to accomplish something that I've set my mind to, and this too shall come to pass.

This weekend.... I have a date lined up with my stitching chair and I hope "numb butt" syndrome will be headed my way! I need a good does of numb butt syndrome...and I hope this weekend is THE weekend for it.

Until Next time....love and best wishes, as you count your blessings and your stitches, from our house to yours! XXXX

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
Psalm 23:1-3

  32. Congratulations Vonna! It got to 86 degrees here today, so it can't be long until home grown fresh veggies will be available. Oh the taste of fresh from the garden tomatoes! I can't garden on the deck, it faces west and gets too hot, but I think mom and dad will let me garden out at their house this year. Just some tomatoes and peppers, maybe a cucumber. Will you be gardening this year?

I LOVE this kitty and really want one for myself. Maybe this year...

    Beautiful flat fold!

    Happy stitching this weekend.

  43. Good for you Von! I too, struggle with weight issues because of health reasons. I am praying I'll be able to do some serious walking when the weather is nicer. I think eating in moderation, not starving yourself (you said you were hungry) is the key. And there's water you are losing first too. We are liquid creatures. Don't get discouraged! Continued luck-I'll be watching.

  49. Hi Vonna,

    The incomparable Harmien strikes
again!! Sorry, I was just on
Staci's blog and she got a lovely
gift from Harmien too. I adore
    the expression on this little
    fellas face. The fabric he's
stitched on looks great too with
    it's mottled shades of colour.
Wonder if she dyes her own fabric?

    I love visiting your finishing
    site to see what fantastical
    methods of finishing you've
    either created or improved upon.
    Wish we lived closer together
because I'd hire you to teach
me how to make magic with fabric
    and trim too.

    Congratulations on the weight
    loss and for making those
    healthy changes in your life.
And to your Mom too. Good
    luck on your journey towards
    your goals.

I truly loved seeing all your
    new stash treasures and reading
    about your plans for stitching
    larger projects for your home.
I look forward to seeing what
    beauties you and your needle
    make of these wonderful designs.
You're going to have so much fun
    stitching these designs, and
    arranging them around your house.

    Cheers!
