Howdy-doo!

Howdy-doo friends! :) My Grandma Epperson would greet me when I was a little girl with a "howdy-doo" or "hello Miss Sunshine", and today with the sun brightly shining, not a cloud in the sky and the robins bopping around singing happily, that greeting just fit. :) Spring in Indiana, 'ya just can't beat it!

Well before we start the Easter weekend I thought I'd share a finish that was recently received by the lovely recipient Amy for her birthday:

Prairie Schooler's "Farm Fresh Eggs"
Finished as Egg Shaped Pinkeep
Stitched with DMC (changed the color of flowers to yellow instead of pink)
"A Happy Birthday to Amy!"

Well the Easter Bunny has been working hard for the Pfeiffer Clan! We've scheduled him with an egg laying sometime this afternoon (probably sometime when the kids are having their "quiet time" he'll pop outside and lay his eggs). Then Mr. Bunny will deliver baskets with the children's new Easter Sunday outfits for Mass tonight so that when they awake tomorrow morning bright and early at 6 a.m. for Mass, there at the foot of their bed will be their Easter Basket's filled with clothes for church. Then while we're at Mass, that rascally rabbit will come back with the Easter candy...as long as they have been good at Church that is ;) I believe that willy rabbit got each child a Hershey's Solid Milk Chocolate Bunny and a 6-pack of Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs. That should bring smiles all around to 4 cherub faces! Until the Mama Bunny says, "Bite off the bunny ears and grab an egg before your name gets put on a freezer bag and you put the rest of the candy away!" to be doled out S-L-O-W-L-Y over the next month.

HAPPY EASTER!

  15. Vonna, are you Catholic? You mentioned mass so that's why I ask not to get too personal. I come into the fullness of the Catholic church tonight at the Easter Vigil mass and I am very excited so that's why I ask.

And your pinkeep turned out so lovely! I will be completing mine this week - it will never look that professional :)

  20. Your pinkeep is beautiful!

Reese's peanut butter eggs are the absolute goodie to find in the Easter basket, in my opinion. I know they don't last very long in our house :)

  26. Love that bunny. That is one of my favorite (two, if you count the companion charts to that series) Prairie Schoolers. I have four of these designs made up as an Easter wreath. Hope you and you family had a wonderful Easter.

  31. oooh Vonna those peanut butter eggs sound devine. A few years ago an american friend sent me a chocolate covered peanut butter Santa and it was just tooooooooooooo divine. I loved it but we just dont have anything like that in this country. I think the nearest thing is a peanut butter kit kat but even they are hard to find.
I hope you had a lovely day for your easter egg hunt, but not too hot so it melts the eggs.

  32. Happy Easter [belated] : ) Go ahead, get the Game Board pattern. It is an inexpensive one. Plus, squares are stitched with DMC floss. If you start now, you will probably finish before I do !!!

  33. Ooh, what a cute pinkeep! I ordered that chart about a week ago and it hasn't arrived yet. Love the way it turned out!

I miss playing Easter Bunny! I loved watching the kids as they scurried around trying to find all the eggs. My youngest was never a big fan of chocolate so we always had gummys, sweet tarts and nurds for him.

  34. Love all the stitching, esp the egg shaped pin keep but I have to say - Reeeces Peanut Butter Eggs?? Oh my goodness. We do get the p/b cups over here in the UK but our Easter Bunny doesn't get those eggs. Lucky children in your house!

The pictures of you all dressed up for Easter are just lovely.
