2007 Wrap Up....

Hello Friends, I hope this finds you all snug as a bug in your homes celebrating the coming of the New Year with family and friends most loved. I thought I would take this opportunity to wrap up 2007 and bring in 2008 with a toot from my horn.

2007 was a good year for myself and my family, of course there were losses and gains, trials and smiles, tribulation and jubilation...but all in all, I have again learned many lessons and I am thankful for those. I am thankful for the health of my family, our faith and continued resolve to be a unit.

I have gained many friends through this blogging community and can look back at this same time last year and remember sort of feeling like an outsider looking in, because I was new to blogging, didn't have as much "experience" with finishing, etc. This year, I have gained so many new friendships and feel that I have a place in our community, I'm happy with the finishing I have learned, am eager to learn more and am looking forward to my stitching as never before. I have this blog and your friendship and inspiration to thank for that!

In 2007 I have:

Finished 53 cross stitch projects

Participated in 32 various exchanges

Started participating in a Round Robin Hello Neighbor

Authored 6 Tutorials

Had 55269 people visiting me at this blog

Had 10879 people visiting me at my Tutorial blog: here

Co-founded an exchange board: Fair and Square

Made a whole lot of friends (please look in a mirror here)

In 2008 I hope to:

Do a whole lot of stitching!

Please take a moment to look through my photo albums for my finished projects and what I hope to continue working on....I'm going to be much better in photographing my stitching this year than in the past year and I've uploaded all my WIPs into various groups so that I (and you too) can track my progress.

I will be starting my Dear Diary Sampler on Jan. 1st! I will be starting back up my Cirque de Cercles project too.

I am slowing WAY down on exchanges this year, most of the exchange groups I belong too are closing. That leaves me with Fair and Square and Hello Neighbor. I'm participating in a three way exchange this year with 3 other lovely ladies, that I hope to get to know better, and I hope to stitch and spoil a lot of my friends. I'm open to personal exchanges, but I think I'm going to step way back from other exchanging at least for the time being.

I think I've rambled enough....I won't be back until Jan. 2 with a picture (hopefully) of my Dear Diary Start :)

Until then may your ring in 2008 with health, laughter and safety

  2. Wow you have been busy this year Vonna. Like a few others I am also slowing down with exchanges. I had a bit to much on my plate this year. But I want to spoil a few stitchers around the globe this year, just not in an exchange.

  3. I'm so glad you have your blog Vonna, and I'm so glad to have found you. I love reading whatever you write, you're a great person even if I've only met you "online". :D I love seeing what you're stitching and what you've finished. One day I will try yet again to do some finishing but for now I'm just grateful to have some stitching time. Can't wait to see your Diary start after the New Year. :D

  5. Vonna, currently, I am in the same situation you were last year at this time, "feeling like an outsider looking in", as I just completed my first exchange (Fair and Square). I hope a year from now I will have learned, gained and finished half as much as you have. You have accomplished alot!

Thanks for all your work on the Fair and Square exchange. I really had fun with my first one.

    Happy New Year.

  42. Hi Vonna - you have done so much this year and I never realised you were an inexperienced finisher this time last year!! This gives me a whole lot of hope. I am giving up exchanges for a bit too till things settle down with the baby - 1 week to go! But maybe in the future I would love to do a personal exchange with you. You are a wonderful woman with a beautiful family and I pray you and yours under the mighty hand of God's blessing for 2008. xx

  44. Hi Vonna,

As one of the bloggers who offers me both inspiration and encouragement it has been a delight and pleasure to get to know you through your blog and your stitching this year.

Your finishing is both professional and imaginative, with a touch of whimsy as well. I look forward to seeing what you do this year.

Umm...I want that little kitchen your daughters are playing in. It's so neat!! Looks like way more fun then my kitchen.

Your kids sure look as though they've had a wonderful Christmas!

I really love that Autumn stocking that you refinished into a pinkeep. The colours in it are gorgeous and the cording sets it all off beautifully.

Best wishes to you and your family for the New Year.

    Cheers!
