There's one in every crowd....

This has nothing to do with stitching....rather it has to do with my 4 lovely children. I try to take my own photos of the kids and get them made into portraits. It's cheaper and I can do it at my own convience and leisure :) Plus I get tired of plain backgrounds and if I'm taking my own pictures to make into portraits, we can look back and remember about where they were taken.

Today I got a bee in my bonnet to take some summertime pictures of my rug rats. Well as the old saying goes.... "There's one in every crowd".....that certainly held true today ;)

Ellie (I'm sure you'll be able to tell which one she is...but she's the youngest) just didn't want a THING to do with picture taking. Dispite my best efforts here's what I got:

Katie (9), Ian and Jacob (7) and Ellie (22 months)

  1. Vonna,
You have beautiful children! I love that you made me a tin! I am so blessed to have met you! Ellie looks like she's a sweetie! We know Katie is a stitching champ, and your two boys, well(bless you girl for twin boys) I would have cried! they look very sweet and angelic at the moment! love their crocs!
Thank you again Vonna! It brightened my day after a stinky remark my sister made to me!

  2. Your right Vonna, there is always one. Maybe it's the youngest thing-because my youngest is usually the one that won't go with the plan. They are beautiful and you must admit it's kind of funny when you see her little face. Is this it for you family wise?

  4. Love the pics! Ellie must have got up on the wrong side of the bed! She's such a cutie! I remember you taking a snap shot of her in the kitchen sink, that's so funny! And she was enjoying it too!

  8. I think it's interesting how different your twins look, as well as how alike. Ellie surely wasn't having anything to do with those photos, eh? ;)

  10. That is so hilarious, Vonna!! When a little one isn't in the mood for pictures, there's just no way to get a happy face. :D

All your children look like they're from the same family - for sure! Do I detect a look of their mother? I think so!

  16. I think it is great that you persisted Vonna - you will treasure these photos as will your children.
LOL - Ellie needs to see herself in some more photos so she can see the result of the posing!! I have a photo of Maddi at 2 pulling a huge scowl as we were at the beach and she didn't want to walk on the sand - I love that photo today and it still makes me laugh.
The bottom left photo of Katie is stunning - boy, she is going to need her 2 brothers to look after her!!!

  29. I think the portraits are beautiful. I'm impressed that you could get a photo with them all looking at the camera. We do the same thing with my boys and two nephews. At least one of them is usually looking in the wrong direction. Great job!

  38. What gorgeous cuties!

Being blonde & blue-eyed, I always assumed that I would have a bunch of kids like yours - until I met their father, that was. He's of Chinese origin. Hence, my four are all black haired & dark eyed.

Keep taking the pics, whether you have willing subject or not. It's all part of the tapestry of life.

  42. Ahhhh... all the kids are cute even little Ms. Ellie! I have always hated having my picture taken. Even as a young girl and would often face the other way. My mother has pictures of me facing the wall and my brother facing the camera so there are a lot of butt shots in our family! :-)
I love the wedding ring quilt.
