to each and every one of my friends, followers and fellow stitchers! This, in my humble opinion, is the most wonderful time of the year. A moment of peace, a time of reflection, a time of goodwill and memories, may it be that for all of us.
I've had a finish...
may I present to you:
"January Cottage"
designed by: Nikki Leeman of Country Cottage Needleworks
Copyright 2010
Stitched with DMC and Crescent Colours cottons
Stitched on 32 ct. Amber Linen by Wichelt
I just fell head over heels when Nikki first showed the pattern and being that I'm a little bit manic about "collections" and "series" well....that did me in :)
I am stitching mine....
all on one piece of fabric. In rows of three starting in January so that the months are roughly by "seasons". I really do think its going to be lovely. And as many of you know, I started a Stitch~a~long which can be found here: Cottages Stitch-A-Long Blog . Membership has been brisk and I think I only have 20 spots left - so if any of you are interested, do not delay! Send me an e-mail and I'll get you added.
We got our decorating done...
this past weekend. I'm tickled pink about one of my trees. Please bear with me while I show you my Santa tree:
I guess all those...
Country Living magazines finally have paid off :) Ha, ha, ha.... This tree is in our dining room/kitchen area and it is decorated exclusively with Santas. I love that big old Uhl crock and when I saw a picture of a tree in a crock in the magazine the light bulb started flickering in my head. Turned out sweetly in my personal opinion.
What's next....
well we'll just have to wait to see, right?!
Until next time...
keep those fingers busy while your hands are at work and your heart is to God!
Merry Christmas!
Love and hugs,

The cottage is cute. I've joined your SAL, but not sure when my LNS will get the patterns in, as she's not on an automatic for those, so I'll always be a bit behind. I was thinking of changing that aqua color to a light blue, but now I'm not so sure. Will have to give that some more thought.
ReplyDeleteLove your tree on the crock. I had a wonderful crock that I sold two years ago. We were auctioning some of my mother's things, so I took the opportunity to sell three or four of my things, too. Now I miss them all. Oh well, life goes on.

At the moment we only put up the one tree. Eventually I want to put up a second one in our rec room with nothing but stitched ornaments. Gotta get my butt in gear though and get more ornaments done!

This is such a wonderful start of the cottages series. When I hear series and even more monthly series I'm usually a taker. But at the moment I have so many monthly series in my stash that I'll have to start some of them next year. But I'll follow your cottages progress and who knows maybe I'll have a weak moment .... Lol.
ReplyDeleteLove your cottage--I'm going to wait until the week after Christmas to start mine--when I'm a little tired and needing to "sit a spell". I'm thimking of doing them on one piece and then making a frame with each one in a window.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Christmas wonderful? Love your decorations.
Pretty stitching and a lovely Christmas tree.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to the boys! What a great project these cottages will be - and a very fine beginning! Love the Santa Tree in the crock - good eye out for catching that one! Enjoy the merriest season! Hugs to y'all.
ReplyDeleteI love your finish of the first cottage, and I would have loved to join you in your SAL, since they look like they're going to be adorable. But, life being what it is, things don't always work out for the best and I'll just be following the blog as a viewer and enjoying everyone else's finishes.
ReplyDeleteLove your January cottage finish.
ReplyDeleteA great tree too!
What a lovely winter finish! And your Christmas tree looks great!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
