Sarah Seifer 1826
Designed by: Anne Brown of The Goode Huswife
Stitched with: DMC
Stitched on: 32 ct. Belfast hand-dyed Autumn Fields
I'm thrilled to bits....
to have this one completed. Sarah has been on my (never-ending) "list" for a while. She's a purdy one and I will have her framed up sometime soon (hopefully - if I can butter up my hubby) to grace our wall o' Adam and Eve's someday.
Speaking of never ending lists....
have you seen some of the fantabulous things coming out of Nashville this past weekend? Well to mention a few that I have my eye on....Primitive Traditions "Plenty and Grace" and "Sarah Elliott's Homeport" (wowzers!), Plum Street Samplers "The Flood" (yeppers, its coming home with me soon), Blackbird Designs (do these ladies ever do anything I don't want to grab immediately? NO! ). I'm trying NOT to look any more but these have caught my immediate attention (and dollars)....
What is next....
I have a square to stitch for Love Quilts that is due by March 1st...so I need to get my needle in gear for that one....then I shall move on to something, probably one old, forgotten, forlorn project that I'll try to bang out so I can get on to my next new start! :) You know, Vonna's "finish an oldie and get to start a newbie" program. It can work for me, I know it can!
Until next time...
I'll be keeping my hands to work and my heart to God, just like always!
Hugs and love,

Absolutely lovely! I am just now getting back to stitching after a many year hiatus and I keep finding new pretties to stitch... Good job!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish!!! Sarah is one I want to stitch as well. Yours is lovely! I'm doing my best to keep my market list down to the minimum, but there are some definite must-haves for me. BBD is definitely among them!
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful design and a gorgeous finish! :D
ReplyDeleteSarah's a beauty! Congrats! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a beautiful finish....
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful finish! Just love the colors as usual for Goode Huswife.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what's next.... and I refuse to look at new stuff!!!
Congratulations, Vonna! This is a lovely piece and on my A&E to stitch list!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the Market - at some point it's best not to look!
Beautiful finish Vonna.
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you on BBD. They are getting really hard to resist when new charts are released and I have so many to stitch already!
Gorgeous finish! Don't even get me started on what's coming out of Nashville...I'm like one of those kids that have their eyes covered but have left a space between my fingers so I can see.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see this one framed up! Congrats on the finish!
ReplyDeleteI've tried to stay away from the new things in Nashville. Too much temptation!
Sarah is a lovely piece. Looks like it would be a somewhat quick stitch. Great design packed into a small space.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend in my historic sampler guild that has the same finish/start plan you are doing...needless to say, she gets a lot done that way.
I am focusing on getting UFO's finished this year...there are just so many it is getting rediculous around here.
that is a beautiful finish, I really love it
ReplyDeleteI am trying to be good an avoid buying from the market releases but it's so hard!
Congratulations on your finish:-) It's beautiful. Gosh, those new market pieces are absolutely adorable. I have my eyes on a few also.
ReplyDeleteCongrats again.
Sarah is just beautiful Vonna, and I hope you can butter up your husband enough to get her framed! There are some lovely new releases. The Blackbird Designs really caught my eye too!
ReplyDeleteVonna: positively beautiful I love this pattern
ReplyDeletethank-you for sharing

Love the finish! I agree about the ladies of BBD. I love everything they do.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Vonna!! The new designs from Nashville are really fantabulous!! I love all BBD and LHN "Fresh from the Garden". I just ordered mine... I want them right now... but I'll have to wait a little... I'm an international person, LOL!!! I can't wait to see your next finish!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Wow!!! Sarah is beautiful and that border....It just "makes" the piece!!!! I am like you..I see The Flood being one that bumps me off my stash diet....It is stunning as a couple more are.... Now to go check out the others you mentioned...winners also I am sure!! Good job my friend, Faye
ReplyDeleteGorgeous finish as usual. The linen contrasts so well with the stitching.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a beautiful finish Vonna!! I am with ya on the BBD patterns...super addictive!! I must have them all...I must have them all! LOL
ReplyDeleteVery nice piece, perfect stitching. I'll be checking out your recommendations from Nashville.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish Vonna! Great addition to the A&E wall!
ReplyDeleteA lovely finish. Yes, Nashville is going to cost a bit... but thank goodness those designers keep fueling the creative juices.
ReplyDeleteWonderful finish.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your new stash.
Wonderful finish Vonna! I like your policy of finishing an oldie and then starting a newbie!
ReplyDeleteA lovely finish. Look forward to seeing your next stitch.
ReplyDeleteWaHOOOOOOOO!! Congratulations on a gorgeous finish! You stitched that up quickly--I won't even tell you how long it took me to finish mine. ;)
ReplyDeleteI was most anxious to see the final block for AotH and the bonus block so was disappointed we didn't get to see that, but of course everything the BBD ladies do is AMAZING. I just need to stitch faster!
Vonna, your projects are always the best. It's tempting to try to keep up with you!
ReplyDeleteWow, now I know what you've been up to since your last post! Sarah is an awesome finish!! I love the angels flying overhead.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Nashville goodies, I spotted The Flood right away and knew I'd be parting with some more stash cash. And I try not to look at the BBD either. Otherwise they're all must haves!
That is a fantastic finish Vonna! It appears that there isn't any sun in Eden :-) Love the new look for your blog.
ReplyDeleteVonna, it's so beautiful. You are such an accomplished needlewoman. Would LOVE to see a pic of your Adam and Eve wall sometime - maybe after you have this one framed? :) Thanks so much for taking the time to share. :) Cathryn

ReplyDeleteYour "finish an oldie and get to start a newbie" plan sounds like a great idea, Vonna! I have blinders on as far as the new charts are concerned since I'm stitching from stash this year...
ReplyDeleteYour newest addition to your A & E wall is delightful--great colors and I love the angels... Good luck with the Love Quilts square :)
What a beautiful finish! I like your plan a lot - getting to see such wonderful ones finished IS a good thing. Oh, honey - I went by my LNS yesterday and almost got the charts out of the box for them... They were very kind and allowed me to take several :-). Here's wishing your needle will stay cool enough to handle! Hugs to ya!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, I love Sarah!!!! When I stitched her my DH looked at and said who's Sarah Seifer, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI have a market list too and I can't wait to go to my shop and look at everything :-).
Vonna, beautiful stitching. I would love to see your Adam and Eve wall sometime.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful finish!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish! I ordered a few things from market yesterday. I'm trying to watch my pennies and keep my stash buying down. We'll see how long that lasts:)))))
ReplyDeleteHave a good week
Great finish! I love the border on that one-so simple yet effective! Have fun perusing the new market offerings!
ReplyDeleteOh WOW!!! Vonna I absolutely love your finish and the chart is now going on my wish list!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm market! I wish I hadn't looked and I don't think I've seen everything that's been released yet! I love the new Jenny Bean Creation Sampler as well as Home Springs Eternal and one of the new BBD charts. A Stitcher's Journey is already on the way across the pond to me as that was a must have and I was gifted with a GC to buy it :)
Sarah is wonderful! And I want all the same new projects from market that you do. When will we find the time? We will!
ReplyDeletetalk about enabling Lady! I think I need your A&E! Lol you did a lovely job stitching
ReplyDeleteGreat finish Vonna!! I love this design! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like Plenty and Grace too (hope Amy gets it in)! :)
Beautiful finish, Vonna! I love this A&E sampler, have it in my stash and your finish is making me move it up nearer the top!
ReplyDeleteI have a few market must-have's, too - BBD, PSS and the SP sampler.
Oh Vonna, this is so beautiful. And attracts my attention very strongly, like all the Goode Huswife designs. It's a pity that they aren't available any longer. On the other hand it's good, because I would buy a lot of them if they were still out there, lol. That's also the reason why I haven't looked at the Nashville news yet. But I know that I can't look away forever. One day I'll have to give in, lol.
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching! It's really a nice design.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Bisxxx
Françoise
Beautiful finish, Vonna !! I am so looking forward to my goodies from market.
ReplyDeleteVonna - I agree with you about the Primitive Traditions charts . . . and have already ordered the ones from BBD - I wasn't as strong a you are! Very pretty finish on the A&E.

You must be so very proud of your daughter! It is a nod to ho well she is being raised! Good job mom keep up the good work. Your finish is beautiful. I will look in to Love Quilts. I have 2 BAP's started and a book mark exchange but I am sure I can do some If not right away at least this summer when I am only working 2 mornings a week. Keep on stitching!! Rose
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous finish.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your finish - it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI haven't really seen much that came out at Nashville - I'm so far behind on my blog reading that I feel really out of the loop, but you've prompted me to go and see what is out there!
I have never had such a good time reading thru a blog, the smiles I gave you (and your kids)-lets not forget the other half.....
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed looking, and wishing, and planning that a payday was near, your retreat stitch is just fantastic.
I am just getting healthy again-being deathly sick for 2 1/2 months, had to learn how to walk again, write, did not pick up a needle till April (Got sick in Jan.) so now working extra hard on ornaments-SALs-RR's (1)-and a personal one for me, now the stash hic-ups have hit....so....time to look for next project.
glad you had fun at your Retreat, making new friends, I now havve "2" new stitching buddies from my groups that I have meet, one lives right in town, and Carol lives 50 miles away up the hill...
I am trying to hunt down a SAL, called-"Red,White and Bloom", one of the other stitchers said she ordered it from 123 stitch, I can't find it, so will have to do some bargining...or "horse swapping" as my uncle would put it yrs ago.
Have a Happy Stitchy week......
