Well...
as soon as I saw it, I knew I would stitch it. Not only because the design is so doggone cute, but because Sampler and Roundy were in the title. I love Samplers and I definitely am a little sampling of "Roundness" myself :)
SO....
with out further ado, may I introduce you to Sampler Roundy:
"Sampler Roundy"
Designed by: Shakespeare's Peddler
Copyright: 2010 Theresa Venette
Stitched on: 32 ct. Picture This Plus "Earthen" Lugana
Stitched with: Limited Edition GAST cottons contained in kit
This...
is cuteness, is it not? I love how ingenious the finish is. Theresa in my humble opinion hit it out of the ball park on this one. One of the reasons I think I love it so much is: it reminds me of a footed Cake Pedestal (which contributes to my roundy-ness). I don't know if I have ever shared this with you all (God forbid, I've shared just about everything else!), but I love me some cake! In fact, I believe I could be the female Cake Boss, except I don't live in Hoboken and I don't have a Jersey accent, but I sure can talk me some redneck :) Move over Betty Crocker....
So...
I understand that this is a limited kit? I think...anyway....but if anyone is interested, I have this up for sale/trade on my link up there at the top of this page. There are plenty of threads left to stitch this cutie pie with.
Ok...
what's next?! Well I need to finish my Family Sampler by LHN. I've been sort of stuck on the top section and doing these small finishes gave me some impetus to pull it back together and get a big WIP done :)
AND...
A question...I think that there is a Birds of a Feather chart entitled "Joyous Christmas" which is a nativity scene. I can get it in needlepoint canvas still, but is there a cross stitch chart? I think there is....If so, does anyone out there have it and if you do, would someone want to loan it to me? I'd stitch it REAL FAST and get it back to you unharmed. I'd even finish something - anything you had ready for finishing - for loaning it to me :) Anyone, anyone.....
Until next time...
I'll be keeping my "hands to work and heart to God"!
Hugs and love,

what a sweet stitch Vonna!
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute. I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.
I love it...and bring it on girlfriend......I dwell in Kentucky, home of the rednecks.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love it. x
ReplyDeleteIf anyone could do justice to that design, it would be you. Perfect circle finish for such a cute design. I'm a cake freak too. Whenever I hear about a wedding, the first think I think of is the cake!
ReplyDeleteThat's a new to me chart, it's sweet! And what a fabulous finish!!! Wish I had that chart for you, if only to get my greedy hands on one of your finishes! I know, I know, I am lucky enough to have a few Vonna Originals already, but one can never have too many in my humble opinion...LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful and unusual!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I'm waiting "patiently" for this to arrive! Sorry I can't help with chart, I'm sure someone out there in blog land will be able to though.
ReplyDeleteWonderful finish !
ReplyDeleteThat is just too cute and round! Congrats girl!
ReplyDeleteI don't have what you're looking for, but I've been trying to finish a wedding announcement for like 3 years now! I'm still working on the boarder ( I hate working from the inside out). Care to finish it for me? lol

What a cute finish! Love the shape!
ReplyDeleteCan't help you with the chart, but good luck and I'm sure someone out there has the perfect answer~
Hi Vonna!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely finish! I think I may need to add that one to my pile. Could you please share a secret? How do you attach your ric-rac so neatly and evenly all the way around? I've tried using it on square finishes and I never get the corners right. I also saw on LHN's blog the 12th and final ornament -- you did a great job on finishing it! Too cute! Can't wait to see what you finish next! Beth
Love both sampler and finish! Great job!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful finish Vonna, it's perfect :)
ReplyDeleteThat is sooo cute. Lovely job!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very cute design, stitch and finish!!
ReplyDeleteDon't have your chart, but I wish I did!
Did someone say cake?! Oh Cute sampler roundy...love the finishing!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on finding Joyous Christmas. It's HTF and I've only seen two finishes of it on the WWW. I've seen it sell for ridiculous amounts on eBay. I wish I had it to lend to you... =(
I saw this somewhere last week on one of the ONS' site. It is adorable and as always, you did a great job stitching and finishing.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love the finish! I've send you an email.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous finish.
ReplyDeleteOh so cute, I love this pattern.
ReplyDeletecatherine
Your finish is gorgeous!!!! I saw this on their website, too and liked it very much!! Now I've seen your version, I'll definitely add that to my shopping list!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great finish! I've been trying to resist this one too. You make it so hard! lol! Good luck finding the chart. I'll email you..
ReplyDeletePRETTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just love it :)
((hugs))
What a fabulous finish Vonna! That is just precious and your finishing is divine. :o) Good luck finding the chart - I'll keep my eyes open for you too, I have seen it on ebay for upwards of $100. FYI - I can speak some Carolina redneck too.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteLooks good Vonna! It's a cute design - Theresa never disappoints in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThat's a unique sampler and finish! I've not seen anything like it before! Great work as usual!
ReplyDeleteI. Am. Jealous. This is so ME! I've just got to add this one to my stash. Love, love, LOVE your finishing!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Vonna!!
ReplyDeleteVonna, you are too funny !!! LOL I love the Sampler Roundy... mine is in the mail on its way to me and I can't wait !!! I agree that Theresa really did a great job with this one.
ReplyDeleteLove this roundy sampler! And your finishing is superb as always :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have the chart your looking for but will keep my eye out for it :)
Round, yep that rings true with me too! It's so cute Vonna. Now that my boys have left home I have no excuse to bake cakes anymore. We're real icing afficianados here. It's gotta be buttercream or nothing!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm not able to help you with the chart.
I love it! Perfect work!
ReplyDeleteVonna, I have the same question as Beth R.: do you have a special secret to make the round? And, in addition, what do you use to attach the stitch to the lid? I am always having problems with edges.
That is such a BEAUTIFUL finish!! ROFLOL about the cake. Me too, gf, me too. I think, just on those grounds alone, I need to stitch that Sampler Roundy. ;) I think Theresa's designing under her Shakespeare's Peddler name is my favorite--I love everything she's come out with.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could help you on the BOAF chart thing. I know it's OOP and hard to find. I do wish they'd release their charts... I heard another BOAF OOP chart went for over $200 last week on Ebay. It's a shame that the designers can't reap the benefits of their hard work.
OMG - I absolutely LOVE this!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your Sampler Roundy Vonna. Such a beautiful finish. Where did you get the base from???
ReplyDeleteVonna,
ReplyDeletePerfect finish! I admired that design when Theresa shared it on her blog.
I hear you about cake! It just goes so well with coffee :)
Simply stunning finish, Vonna!
ReplyDeleteI do hope you can find that chart--it is mind-boggling how much those old BOAF charts go for, isn't it?!
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNow how cute is that?! Beautiful and yes, I love the title too.
ReplyDeleteTanya
Oh wow gorgeous!!!! Love it :-). I have that piece and cute little box I got at the SB retreat. I need to measure and see if it will fit.
ReplyDeleteI adore that BOAF Chart but I don't have it :-(. Hope someone can loan it to you.
I love the finish on this one-what is that little pedestal? Is it wood?
ReplyDeletehttp://crazyxstitcher.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
ReplyDeleteShe stitched this back in 2008 and may still have the pattern.
Love your blog and enjoy seeing your creations!
Good luck on finding that pattern!
(I BING'd it and found her website I wanted to see what the pattern looked like!)
I love it! If you decide you don't want it, you can send it to me! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I agree, Theresa really out did herself on this one. She is an amazing designer, she makes it look effortless. I can't wait to stitch this one. You are too funny, by the way!!!
ReplyDeleteI love love love this little design - I need to buy this one!
ReplyDeleteLove love love your sampler roundy. So fun! I just love Theresa's designs. If you do find a copy of the Joyous Christmas, let me know. I've been dying to get my hands on it. I'll do the same for you, if I run across one.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! I think this is a very clever way to finish too. I really love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous finish Vonna!! Thank you for the nice comment on my husband's mug and my little witch. My little witch has a companion piece out new called Stitching Witch that I just couldn't resist. It too is by Homespun Elegance. Love how you finished this piece here!!
ReplyDeleteThis is very sweet and dainty!
ReplyDeleteI can certainly teach you Jersey talk since I'm a Philly gal from near there. Ha ha!
che bello it's very nice and perfect!
ReplyDeleteciao silvia
What a great finish Vonna. Sampler Roundy what a cute name :)Wish I could help you on your search, what a great trade off also :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your search.
Take Care
It's adorable!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen a round sampler. This one is terrific! Great job!!
ReplyDeletePurrfect! That roundy cat reminds me of your Chatty (who also reminds me of our Burly Bear). :)
ReplyDeleteSorry that I can't help with the chart you're seeking.
As always your stitching and finishing is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely wonderful piece to stitch! I love it's little "roundedness" too!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous, congratulations
ReplyDeleteOh Vonna, I love, love, love your Sampler Roundy! This one called my name when I first saw it, and I was trying so hard to resist, but seeing your finish just pushes it over the line! Gorgeous!! Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteGirl, I loves me some cake too! Sometimes things at work can be just BLAH, then, someone brings in cake and suddenly everyone is HAPPY~HAPPY~HAPPY! Now, I ask you...what else can do that other than CAKE?! LOL!
xox
Beautiful work, Vonna. I love the colors and design.
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful, Vonna - lovely finish!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
I saw this in some of the market releases - and it is absolutely cool! Your finishing is stunning and your tutorials make it look so easy. I have all the makins' ready to try the flat felt ornament, but haven't worked up the courage yet!
ReplyDeleteI have many BBD, but don't recall a nativity scene - I will look at what I have when I go up to the stitching studio!
That of beautiful things on your blog
ReplyDeleteGood continuation to you, all my marylin friendship France
You've pushed me off the fence on this one - it's a must have! What a clever finish. Now I just have to go find me some cake...
ReplyDeleteHi Vonna!!! Your finish is really pretty, I love it :)
ReplyDeleteThree words...cute, cute, cute!
ReplyDeleteThe sampler roundy is just darling. I love it. You did another fantastic job Vonna.
ReplyDeleteHi Vonna,
ReplyDeleteThis is the second "finish" of
this little sampler that I've
seen featured in someone's blog
and it is so neat. The design
is wonderful and the little
"cake stand" underneath makes it
extra special. And of course
you've done a awesome job of
stitching and finishing it.
Hope that someone has the chart
that you're looking for.
Chocolate cake. Rich, dark
moist and decadent as all get
out! That's my favorite.
Cheers!!
It's gorgeous, Vonna! What a lovely finish. I love the new autumn look of your blog, by the way :) Have a very happy Sunday and a happy new week!
ReplyDeletevery lovely
ReplyDeleteA young hello to you in passing,
A good day
Best regards marylin
