TGIF! It's been one of "those kind" of weeks, if you catch my drift....and I'm joyous that the day of days is here! :)
Now...
I'm sure some of my blog readers have noticed that I've been very absent of late. And I have...on blogging, on commenting and visiting blogs, just absent in general. Although I love to keep busy as it keeps me out of trouble, I am ready for a bit of a break and I've determined that this weekend is THE weekend for me to get some stitching in for myself.
Before...
I get on with Vonna's stitch in, I'd like to show you a little surprise that I stitched up for my dear friend Ann, who is a fellow Microbiolgist at the hospital where I work. Not only is Ann my collegue, she is really a true friend. She is one of those kind of people that should have wings and a halo. I love her with all my heart, I really do. Anyway, Ann turned 70 years young yesterday and today I surprised her with a little gift:
"Quaker Strawberry"
designed by: Blackbird Designs
Design published in: 2006 Just Cross Stitch Ornament Issue
Copyright 2006 Blackbird Designs
Stitched on 32 ct. antique ivory belfast
Stitched with: Strawberry Shortcake Belle Soie by Crescent Colours
(which I thought was appropriate!)
I'm going to be honest....
this was a breeze to stitch, the Belle Soie lovely to work with as always, but the finishing...bah humbug! Pretty fiddley....I think you have just seen the first and last Strawberry made by these two hands. :)
So...
now I get to stitch for myself and I am really close on something from the St. Charles Market....maybe tomorrow another finish?!
Until next time....
I'll be keeping my "hands to work and heart to God"!
Love and hugs,

It's gorgeous Vonna - and it might have been fiddly, but it still turned out beautifully :)
ReplyDeleteFiddly maybe, but you did a beautiful job on the strawberry and I bet your friend just adores it! Have a great weekend with as much stitching time as you can handle!

ReplyDeleteIt's lovely Vonna and I know your friend will love it. Those strawberries can be "fiddly" for sure and we've got 1500 other XS projects waiting for us, right? LOL Have a great weekend with lots of family & stitching time. I am headed out on a day trip downstate with some friends to a sewing & craft festival and a stop at a LNS there - woohoo! I love my LNS dearly but it's so much fun to visit another one with different things!
