And just about ready to leave for the hospital, but I was so excited to show you the fruits of my labor over the weekend!
On Friday evening, I stitched and finished this elegant little thing:

Then....
Saturday after I got home from the hospital I pulled out and stitched and finished this lovely thing:
"Tombstone Angel"

Stitched on: 40 count French Vanilla Newcastle (one over two)

A lovely pair of pretties to sit in my needlework basket by my stitching chair, stitched on a most delightfully relaxing weekend - even though I had to punch in at work! Fellow stitcher's, I would run *real fast* or at least type *real fast* to your local needlework shop and get you some of this stitchy goodness! I'm in love with mine. I can't stop looking at them or smiling because they are just so doggone cute! Don't you agree?! ;o)
And a little secret to share....
This isn't all I've stitched this weekend! I'm about halfway on another St. Charles Market release I even got the stuff from Hobby Lobby (as called for) painted and ready to finish the item! And the only hint I have to share is....it isn't Jane Tindall....although I've been looking at her real hard and riffling her pages.....
Until next time...
I'll be keeping my "hands to work and heart to God" while I finish my next stitching project!
Hugs and love,

Oooh Vonna they are ace! I really like them. Kelmscott you say??? Ho hum going ot have a peek. xx
ReplyDeleteQuite nice! The Old crow really gives a rich look. :)
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh my Wish List just grew. Perhaps I can drop hints to DH to order these for me for my birthday. But knowing my DH he would think I wanted a real Tombstone. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh Vonna, I love both pieces! I was tempted by the angel one anyway -- you're not helping. lol! Gorgeous! Glad your weekend is so enjoyable! I want Jane too btw. :D
ReplyDeleteBoth of them are soooo cute! Where did you get the angel hornbook? I don't have any needlework shops around here that sell stuff like that.

Nice finishes and I love the strawberry in the previous post! Scares me a bit though, you finish so nicely and easily (in your tutorials) that the berry gave you fits - not sure if I would even attempt...
ReplyDeleteVery sweet!!!! Love how you finished everything.
ReplyDeleteLove that tombstone angel! God I wish I had a LNS that I could just run out to! I can't wait to see your current WIP. I'm glad you're getting some quality stitching time for yourself even if you did have to make an appearance at the lab.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I may have to keep an eye out the next time I visit the LNS. Love both pieces!!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThese are great pieces! I might have to look those up for myself. (Though I really shouldn't because I've been bad bad bad lately with the shopping.)

Love your finishes. I'm glad you had a relaxing stitching weekend. Can't wait to see what else you accomplished.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
Well Vonna,
ReplyDeleteAs usual your stitching and finishing skills have resulted in two wonderful treasures to add to your collection.
The little hornbook and the tombstone are utterly charming and set off the simple ABC's of the one design, and the elegant stitching of the letter "V" of the other to perfection.
You make a great Ambassador of Stitching for showcasing the designs that you stitch to their very best advantage.
There's some wonderful stuff come out of the St. Charles Market this
past week and it's hard to resist any of it.
Wonder what you're working on now??
Glad you're having a fabulous stitching and finishing weekend. And by the way....love your new craft room!!
Cheers!
Those are both super finishes. You didn't waste any time whipping those up!
