Swinging in to show a small finish....this one was my current "car project" and I finished the stitching part last Wednesday, finished the beading Friday evening and finished the finishing last night. She's a cutie, that is for sure and I can mark another off my list of my LHN Monthly Ornaments! Now I just have one more to get done before the Peppermint Twist one lands in my mailbox. I'm proud of myself for halfway keeping up! And boy won't my tree look "all dolled up" come December....yes'siree it surely will!

You know....
Diane has announced that the ornament series will continue for 2011, so that's 12 more ornaments!!! Boy oh boy....if I would keep up with LHN's monthly ornaments and then stitch some of the Prairie Schooler Santa's that I really want to do....my tree would be gorgeous! I need to make goals, or hire help :) and....don't forget I have two blogs worth of LHN Monthly Ornament stitchers doing a stitch-a-long...so if you'd like to join us, click on the links in my sidebar to take you to the blog and follow the directions there to be join us!
The weekend....
flew by as usual, I had to work so little "fun" time happened. This week we have our county fair going on, so we'll be checking that out and getting some fair grub. Next weekend we'll be travelling to see the grandparents one last time before school starts. The summer is slowly coming to a close for us, sort of sad, but we've had a super summer and all good things must end. The kids are looking forward to new starts and fresh beginnings....Mama is too ;)
Until next time....
I'll be keeping my "hands to work and heart to God"!
Hugs and love,
Beautiful finish.I wish Diane would sell stock in her company......it would save me money!!! LOL

ReplyDeleteI would love to participate in the SAL for the LHN ornaments, but I haven't started any of them! I want to stitch 12 PS ornaments this year, so if I manage to meet that goal, I might have to look at doing LHN next year. I agree, it would be lovely to have a tree full of stitched ornaments.
Very cute. Wish I was as skinny as that skater! Your tree will be endearing.

ReplyDeleteSummer has really flown by fast. I keep catching myself stressing about how quickly it's going and soon school will be starting and then I realize, I don't have any kids in school, no more getting up to take them, stopping what I am doing to pick them up. Summer will actually continue on for me this year and I am really looking forward to it!
What a lovely addition to your LHN tree. And she really looks cute, lol.
ReplyDeleteHere the summer holidays start only in two days s we have all the summer bliss still before us.
This is so lovely...I have it all kitted up, I really need to stitch it soon!
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas tree will be fantastic!!
Vonna, your ornament is precious...can't wait to see the tree!! Great finishing...as usual :)
ReplyDeleteLove that ornament!! I've seen it before (can't recall who it was that did it... Natalie, maybe??)... It's one I'll need to stitch for Leah at some point. It would be right up her alley. :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the fair... I think we'll go to ours this year (we haven't in years past)... one thing I'll miss though - Elephant Ears!! That dough with the cnnamon & sugar??? YUM!! Do they have those at your fair? I always got them at the fairs in MI, but I've never sen them at the fairs around here. :(
Anyway, bla bla bla... have a great week!
Vonna,
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorites.. reminds me of my niece learning to ice skate and wanting to go to the Olympics! Your finish is so, so pretty!

ReplyDeleteHey Vonna - how did you attach your ornament to the backing in this post? I love the way it's finished (as I commented earlier) and I've thought of it since I commented. I have quite a stack of things to finish/finish and some are ornaments. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteLooks great Vonna :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Marieka
