I haven't dropped off the face of the earth. Nope, instead I've been to paradise. The Pfeiffer Family Truckster left the garage on June 3, 2010 and ventured forth to:
Actually....
We had lots of good fun and we got to see many things like....
the ocean and play in it every day:
Katie in the surfWe visited Mama's favorite place and said a rosary:
Mission of Nombre de Dios Mission
Shrine of Our Lady of la Leche
Hollywood Gater Wrestlers
We met some fine feathered friends in their beautiful plumage....
We visited a beautiful historical landmark....
After all of this....
Plain tuckered out!We returned home....
last evening after a 14 hour drive starting at 2 a.m. I have found that although I was ready to leave this place 10 days ago, there is nothing like the small comforts of home. Upon my return, I found beautiful blue hydrangeas greeting me in my flower garden, which now are gracing my grandmother's cut glass vase. I discovered a soon to be *new* favorite today during my weekly grocery shopping spree....cappuccino mix from Sam's (only $6.22 and it is a HUGE bunch!). Throw some in a blender with ice and milk and SHAZAM - out comes a lovely iced cappuccino ~ move over Starbucks! All of this adds up to one lovely, lazy Sunday at the Pfeiffer haus while we recuperate from our vacation! :) Whew...tired....
Iced Cappucino and Cute HydrangeasBUT before I go....
in case you think I've given up stitching totally ~ hold on to your granny panties (bikinis, hipsters, thongs, what have you)....

In closing....
please know that your sincere words about my daughter Katie's graduation meant a lot to me and to her. Thank you so much! Also, I want you all to know that I am striving to catch up on reading blogs and commenting in general over the next week. My reader says 1000+ (OH MY!) and my anal side is a little twitchy just knowing the number, because I like to read and comment on all my friends and followers blogs too....but I'll get round to yours *real* soon. I also hope to stitch something too. Wouldn't that be amazing? Me, stitching. Yep....great....hope that happens soon too. However, knowing that the lazy days of summer are upon us, I should be able to work some X's into my schedule - fingers crossed!
Until next time....
I'll be keeping my "hands to work and heart to God"!
Hugs and love,

Love your photos and I'm glad you got to visit all the places you remembered going when you vacationed there as a child. Remember we had that conversation when I posted about St Aug earlier this year. It's always good to come home no matter how much fun you had. Love your exchange piece. Melody

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful trip Vonna! That shrine looked like such a special place. Can I go with you next year? :)
ReplyDeleteHi Vonna,
ReplyDeleteAs you know Dan and I love Florida! Sounds like you all had a great vacation.
We have a house rented for April of next year in the Port Charlotte area. Anyway...I am glad to have received your post on my blog. I am so pleased that we do not have the only anti-social cat in North America! Her latest escapade involved pushing the screen out of our bedroom window and falling or escaping onto the roof below. Alas the roof doesn't go anywhere...it is just a small ledge over the garage doors. It must have been quite a sight to see me leaning (far) out of the window, with Dan holding onto my legs as I reached down to pluck her from the ledge and save her (yet again) from the great outdoors. All I got for my efforts was a scratched arm!
Maybe I should have had kids instead of pets!
Ann
What fun!! I'm so glad that you got away and that everyone enjoyed themselves. I grew up vacationing in Ft. Lauderdale and I want to take my DH there someday to show him how much I loved it. So far I haven't been able to tear him away from his choirs.
