Robins....
are my very favorite bird and I have a little, well we'll call it a "ritual", that I do every fall and every spring. I write down the date when I notice the robins have gone for the year. And then I anxiously await their return back home in the spring and write it down. It varies by a few days each year. I don't know why I started doing this, I just do. :)
Chicks....
you'll notice that I put 4 little chicks in my nest (there were only supposed to be 3). My kids have had fun figuring out which "chick" they are. You'll notice I have chick number one with a big mouth...that's for Katie cause she's always bossing....ummm I mean advising someone (and I mean that in the best way possible)! The boys are the nestlings made from the same color textured wool. You'll notice one of the brown nestlings is sort of tilted sideways kind of dreamy looking....well that's my Jake. And the littlest nestling. Well we all know who is represented by that one, and here she is with her own nestling from the Children's Farm Festival that we attended on Thursday this week:
Ellie with the ducklingMother's Day.....
couldn't have come at a better time for me, because I wanted to rearrange my finishing "studio". Plus I wanted to organize my reserve skeins of DMC in a workable way for me. My "studio" is in our basement and I've re-purposed a lot of drawers, desks and tables for my little area. So for Mother's Day I asked my husband for those little nuts and bolts drawer sets from the hardware store and he mounted them on the wall for me. Yesterday I spent making little placards for the inside faces with all the DMC numbers on them. I also rearranged and organized my trims, material, sewing machine, etc. (and made a cat bed in the window sill for Chatty and Red - they like to help me finish and sew). My sewing machine is a newbie too, I got her for Christmas - it's a Janome Magnolia 7330 and sewing with her is a dream.
Until next time....
keep your "hands to work and hearts to God"!

Love it and the way you personalized it! Nice organization, too. Have a great Mother's Day!
