I'm burning up the wires, aren't I, blogging every day... this will be the last for a good while, I'm thinking....I was just so excited, I couldn't hold myself in! Wednesday was not only Laundry Day (UGH!) but it is also the day that I do a lot of my finishing work whether it be for clients or for myself. Yesterday it was particularly productive because I framed:
AND:
AND...
While we are on the subject of framing - I "edited" my framing tutorial with a trick that Anna and also Marie told me about. You can go on over to the tutorial to read all about it but basically they told me to wet and glue the brown paper and I did it with these two frame jobs and WOWZERS girls...thanks for the tip! :o)
AND now the unveiling....
of my beginning sampler wall....now it's in a "primitive" form, I left some holes on purpose to sort of fill in. And my husband told me that he was going to have to redo the whole gol'darn wall if I didn't stop hammering and I told him to get his work belt out because when I get finished this whole wall was going to have samplers on it from chair rail to the ceiling. To which I got a blank stare. :o) Men ye' of small minds....and sampler wall aspirations.... but anyway I digress...here it is folks in all it's sampler wall glory. It is the wall behind my couch and I can see it from my stitching area....and smile drunkenly with happiness, while doing a jig and singing Danny Boy.
Your Sampler Wall is awesome and the stitched pieces are gorgeous! I am still trying to figure out which wall to use but am anxious to start hammering.

ReplyDeleteI do love your sampler wall, it's a great beginning.
ReplyDeleteFunny your DH said that about the wall. When I mentioned I wanted to put samplers all over my newly painted walls several years ago, my husband pointed out how long it took to get the walls nicely painted and so on. The walls to this day remain blank. I will definitely have to do it now!
Oh my, oh my, oh my! Your sampler wall is wonderful Vonna! I am sure that when the children are quiet and I tilt my head I can hear you singing Danny Boy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
Your sampler wall and framed pieces look excellent!
ReplyDeleteOh man, Vonna, this is going to be great; and I can't wait to see the finished wall!!! I have always wanted a sampler wall; I will live my excitement through you.

Wow your sampler wall looks wonderful Vonna!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely! I have the same intentions, tho maybe not all samplers since I have only of late been introduced to them. But I want a stitching wall or walls! It is hard to have since I spend too much time reading blogs and not enough time stitching! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Keep hammering!
Maggee

ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I have been hoping to do the same thing with the wall above our couch- only with Jane Austen themed pieces. :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful wall! For the past month or so I've been contemplating what to do with all my current stitching, and the stitching I'm sure to complete in the future. I would love to have an entire wall, but I'm not sure my husband will go for that. Hmmm....have to see what I can do about that ;)
ReplyDeleteYour sampler wall looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteOh, how excitiiiiing! And such beautiful samplers you have up there, too! I find my sampler walls are developing themes. I have a folksy sampler wall, a birdy sampler wall, a garden sampler wall... I'm running out of wall,s but it looks like you have a way to go :o))
ReplyDeleteYour finishes look great! And your sampler wall is just gorgeous. Oh how I can't wait until I have one of my own. I will probably have a happy burst everytime I pass by it. But until then, I shall admire your sampler wall. :P
