As you will notice from my "fibers" listed above - I chose my own color conversion using Victorian Motto Sampler Threads, I have a couple of DMC in there too, but the vast majority is VMST. I didn't fancy a pink/salmon colored house - so my house will be plum colored (I think...) Anyway, I do love this design and it will be a fabulous (some day) addition to my sampler wall - don't you think?
Well that's it for me today - just a drive by posting of my new start! Thank you so much for your visits, your comments and your friendship! And Until next time.....love and best wishes, as you count your blessings and your stitches, from our house to yours! XXXXXX
Great start, love the colors !
ReplyDeleteVonna, I have started This is the Day also, it's in my rotation. Can't wait to see them finished! I'm using the threads as charted.
ReplyDeleteI got the magazine on Sat and am also about to bust this start!!!! Great floss colours!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful start! You are so gifted in picking different thread colors.
ReplyDeleteI have had this magazine on my coffee table ever since I got it in the mail. I really really want to start this one. Maybe I should just jump on the band wagon :)

Beautiful start Vonna!
ReplyDeletePretty start.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I like "baked and basted by moi" as a title for your line of fabric!
Lovely new start! I love the colour selection.
ReplyDeletePretty! I love it. New starts are always so much fun. I like to change colors around too, mostly to try and utilize my stash. I am beginning to realize that I have so many threads and I’d better get using them, or I never will LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove it. Love the colors and the design and everything. Lots of Love Patti the serial starter of late xxx
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Vonna. Your fabric choice is great (love Silkweavers)! Is there anything better than starting a new project and putting that needle to fabric the first time? Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking just fabulous, Vonna :)
ReplyDeleteVonna, very pretty! You know how I feel about this chart, LOL. I love how everyone is personalizing this design. I think I am going to start mine tonight :-).
ReplyDeleteVonna, Vonna, Vonna! Don't you know I already have too many projects calling my name? You're not helping matters here, especially since I already own the JCS issue with this pattern AND I probably have suitable linen and fibers for it. Will the temptation never end?? Guess not, because this is just lovely!!
ReplyDeleteYour sampler wall is going to be awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI have this magazine too, and fell in love with the sampler as soon as I saw it. I can't start it yet 'cuz I have a Round Robin to get finished and mailed, a wedding shower gift (it's this Saturday) and a wedding sampler to finish and get framed. But it's next on my to-do list!
ReplyDeleteYour colors are great...

Those colors are gorgeouos!
ReplyDeletePlease pay a visit to my blog...I have something for you there.
Vonna, I find the stitching blogs quite funny. Was it you who started "Lo, A Rose" or perhaps someone else did? Anyway, then it seemed to catch fire and lots of people started stitching it, and rightly so! Now - "This is the Day" seems to be the one I'm seeing a lot of. I'm going to be stitching this with Joanie soon.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the lovely colours in your conversion!
The floss colors are soooo pretty. Great start, Vonna. Can't wait to see more :)
ReplyDeleteThe colors are beautiful!!!!! Great start!
ReplyDeleteThe colors are wonderful and I can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteOh goody! :) Another new start to watch!! Can't wait to follow your progress on this... especially with the colors. They are beautiful together.
ReplyDeleteLook at those gorgeous threads-wow! And double wow for losing 21 pounds!! I'm concerned as you got full on salad. Hmmm..to me salad is good, but I hope you have protein and fats in moderation. I know you can keep going. I've been walking here and there. When I get my van back, I'm going to try for at least 2-miles a week.
ReplyDeletevery nice start:) lovely colors, enjoy stitching
ReplyDeleteLove the scheme, love the colours, love the fabric!!!!
ReplyDeleteTo start a new project is so so good! I'm for the first time doing a project in a different fabric, slowly going along!!
Hugs and stitches
This is one sampler I would like to add to my sampler wall one day. I love your choice of colours :o)

ReplyDeleteA beatiful start and colours. Also love your rabbit tag (post below).
ReplyDeleteGreat start and your colour choices are just lovely :)
ReplyDeleteGreat colors, Vonna! Funny how so many of us decided to do this one at once!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have to tell you, almost daily as I was stitching this sampler, I would sing, "This Is The Day The Lord Has Made, Let Us Rejoice And Be Glad" very loudly, in a high pitched voice, because that's how the cantor at our cathedral sings it. I did that one time around the kids & they all joined in, LOL. It's a super fun stitch and the colors you chose are going to be fabulous! I can't wait to watch your progress.
ReplyDeleteLove your floss tag, too!
Lovely new start Vonna. The colours are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely design. I think I saw it on Siobhan's blog and loved it at first sight. I love your fabric and the colours chosen. I wish you wonderful stitching hours with this project.

Thanks for your kind coment, Vonna! :) I'll have to try thread heaven for sure! Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice blog you have! And, just as nice is your dear Chatty! How he reminds me of our own cat (in looks and gesture) "Burly Bear". (He was really wolly in his kittenhood). Our family's cat had kittens, and I was allowed to keep ONE. I was about 12 at the time, and I of course picked Burly--He was such a funny little kitty. My stepfather says he is "retarded" but I think he is just special. What a funny cat! I actually picked him because I didn't think anyone else would! He was so rough with his prickly fur and he used to back into the corner where the bed met the wall and wedge himself there and howl. No matter how often we pulled him out, he would go back! Also, he really loves to sit by you, even then.
ReplyDeleteHe IS a little funny, though. Kinda reminds me of a friend of mine who is a bit autistic...His mind is just different. But, he is still a great cat.
Isn't that funny, how we love our cats? Anytime we see someone else's good cat, we remember our own darlings and compare them favorably. (P.S. Though similar in looks, I'm not saying that Chatty is like Burly in personality. Though, Burly Bear would love that squishy window perch!)
Enough of my cat rambling! This looks like it will be a great piece; can't wait to see some more!
I think you have all my favourite colours there! I'll look forward to seeing this one grow
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Vonna!! It's the reason I bought the magazine!! LOL I've kitted it up, and who knows when I'll start it...
ReplyDeleteYours looks great. Hugs, Deb
