Stitched on: 28 ct. Silkweaver Solo Cashel Linen using DMC threads
It's so pretty in real life....I did go and order a frame for it today - this measures 12 x 12 and there are no "premade" square frames in the size I needed (14.5 x 14.5) so I had to purchase a custom made frame - which should be in soon *hopefully*. I got a lovely dark rosewood frame with etched flowers in it....I hope that I can finish this up next Wednesday so I can add another start! :o) You will notice that I added my initials and the year in the center of that octagonal flower thingy....I thought it was bare and that would be the perfect place for my "signature" - LOVE it!
Tomorrow is HAED day....I missed stitching on it last Friday because I had to work and long story short....it's was a mess there and by the time I got home...too tired. So.....there ends my story!
Not very chatty today, so I'll leave you until next time I update...whenever that shall be :o)
Until next time, count your blessings and your stitches!
Vonna,
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is just lovely and you've made great progress! I think your initials and year in that thingy is perfect!
Michelle
I love how "Lo" is coming- you stitch so fast!
ReplyDeleteThe square frames- do you have an IKEA near you? They have a line of frames that are square, "Ribba". They are contemporary in styling, but they come in black, dark and pale wood, silver and they used to have white & red. They have
19-3/4" x 19-3/4" and 9"x9". You might be able to order online.
"Lo" is coming along beautifully! You are really getting alot done and I am still on my first start of the year! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou are making awesome progress, I really like this one :)The frame sounds perfect!

ReplyDeleteYou stitch so fast. I can't imagine how much I'd have done if I could sit and stitch that quickly! Tha frame you are having made sounds really pretty and should look wonderful with Lo!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I bought the book with this pattern in it last year just for this design. I have yet to do it but some day. It was the first Christmas song I learned to play on the piano so it is a favorite.
ReplyDeleteTanya
Great idea for the year and initials. You'll probably have it done before the frame arrives :)
ReplyDeleteWowie that is wonderful and you came up with a great idea on the initials and all.

ReplyDeleteIt's so gorgeous! I love the fabric you're using, it works really well.
ReplyDeleteMy book arrived yesterday, so I was drooling over the pattern - it's a good job I don't have any suitable fabric ATM, as I could well have caved and started this one ;) Love the initials idea, it's perfect!
It's looking gorgeous Vonna! You'll finish it for sure next week!
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnd in a frame, beatifully choosen, for sure it will be lovely!
Hugs
This is lovely! I am going to my LNS (Stitch & Frame in Fort Wayne) today, and will see if they have the graph. Now for the framing...you do your own? Do you have a tutorial or hints you could share? I have framed smaller things, but not something this size. I have at least a dozen samplers, etc that are rolled up in storage simply because I cannot afford professional framing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Vonna, the best thing is about rotations, is that it is your rotation and you can always change it a little, LOL. Stitch what you want, and have fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I love it!
ReplyDeleteYour "Lo, How a Rose" looks wonderful, and you're finishing it up so quickly! I had planned to put my initials in the same place (it's the perfect spot), but I never followed through. OOPS! Yours look perfect there, and I love your number arrangement on the year.
ReplyDeleteYou've made great progress. Can't wait to see the frame - it sounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh Vonna, I'm loving this project! It's one of my very favorites to follow.

ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful Vonna! I didn't manage to stitch at all this week~~hopefully nothing interferes next week!!!
ReplyDeleteyou got a lot accomplished on this piece and it looks great!!
ReplyDeleteWow, the "Lo How A Rose" is a real beauty. I'll have to get that chart. Thanks for the hints on coffee/tea dying. Mine has always come out too light and now I know why. Thanks also for the link and tip about MCG Textiles. I have always like dying their even weaves. They are nice and "smooth" even after taking a swim in the RIT dye bath.
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteThis is terrific!! Now I want to stitch it to! Your signature works perfect in the octagonal flower thingy. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou're positively steaming along with this one. Wonderful progress.
ReplyDeleteGood progess.
