Today I finished my first project using my Needlework System 4 floor stand. And all I can say is, I continue to love it. Here's what I finished stitching last night at approximately 8 p.m:
And here's how I finished it today:
Designer: Tanya Marie Anderson ~ The Sampler Girl
Stitched on 28 ct. Antique White evenweave using DMC
Finished as a pillow
I love it and its mine...my Mom was here this weekend and although I've got a lot of beautiful cross stitched items in my home...little or none of them have actually been stitched by me and she commented on the fact that I give almost everything I make away....so I'm going to become a little bit stingy for a bit and stitch some things for me :)
I'm coming down with something...I guess spending 12+ hours outside in the cold the past week messing with Girl Scout cookies is catching up with me. I'm not down and terrible, just beginning to feel a bit ill.....I'm drinking tea and settling in for the rest of the day, hopefully that will kick what's trying to take hold.
Until next time my dear friends, stitch happy!
Hurray!!! You've finished something for yourself! And it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHope you kick whatever it is...or at least hope your stitching and tea are soothing :)
I was my daughter's troop leader for 4yrs and no one ever wanted to do a cookie booth, thank goodness!!!
The pillow is really nice. Hope you feel better soon. Stay warm!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely accent for your home! Think of it as stitched for "that very special someone - you!"
ReplyDeleteThe pillow is fantastic!! I need to get this pattern. I have seen it stitched a few times and every time I love it even more.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. I too feel like I am coming down with something. I just feel blah today. I have been drinking lots of fluids and taking Zicam so I hope that helps.
That pillow is just gorgeous, you're so right to keep it just for you!! Take good care of yourself!!
ReplyDeleteYou take care of yourself, dear Vonna! No illness!!
ReplyDeleteLove-love-love your "stingy" finish. It's gorgeous! And good for you, keeping something for yourself!!
Oh, I do hope you won't fall ill now, Vonna! NOt now you've wisened up and decided to stitch for YOU! It's about time, if you ask me. Especially when the results are this pretty.
ReplyDeleteGreat finish! I'm glad you are going to keep this one for yourself. It is a dear little pillow. Take care, the crud is going around out here in CA too.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful - your pillow finishing is just divine! Enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better :)
Tanya
Wow, I love the pillow, it's such a beautiful finish!
ReplyDeletePlease look after yourself, the cold weather does no good for anyones health. Hope you feel better soon.
It's beautiful, and good for you for deciding to keep it. After all, 2008 is the Year of Selfish Stitching :)
ReplyDeleteTake care and feel better!
Your pillow is so precious! I love that lace that you added, it really makes it. I also like that color blue with it. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteYou should keep some things for yourself, isn't this one of the reasons we love this craft; to see the beauty and charm of it in our homes. I have been doing this for about 2 decades now and my husband says that I have 50 items just where we were sitting in the living room and I say No I don't have that many! So we counted them, there were over 40 items from what we could see in the livingroom and partial hallway. Some I had bought but mostly items that I had made over the years. My walls and curio cabinet and entertainment center and two other cabinets are all filled or have a few items on them. They really accumulate. you can see why I am starting to put items in scrapbooks. Oh, and I have given many away to my family members and friends too.
Take care of yourself Vonna! Sending healing thoughts your way.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish by the way I love the lace you used to trim the pillow.
Vonna, your pillow is so pretty! I love the lace!! I hope you feel better soon!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish! Yes you do need to keep some things for yourself! But, the nice thing about giving away to other stitchers, is they can TRULY appreciate the labor of love that it is :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful! so nice that you will be keeping one of your own pieces this time around!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better after some relaxing and sleep.
What a beautiful pillow! I just love it! Hope you don't get sick, momma's are in high demand around the house! haha I'm gonna ask for that stand for my birthday!
ReplyDeleteDonna
I stayed put myself today. I've been fighting something all weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time you were a little stingy and did something for yourself! The pillow is just gorgeous. I love the lace trim you used.
Hope you escape the storm's worst. Just don't send it here okay!
Love the pillow, the lace is the perfect touch !
ReplyDeleteHey Vonna! The pillow is adorable :) I love how it turned out, the lace looks really nice with it. I hope you aren’t getting very sick, I have been and it’s miserable. I’ll also hope the storm misses you guys too! Have a great evening!
ReplyDeleteYour pillow is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself and your little chicks and I hope you feel better soon!
What a pretty pillow. It's ok to be stingy once in a while!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI really love this finish. So pretty, and expertly done, as usual. Heard the storm was headed your way. Hope you get a snow day. Stay safe and well. (P.S. I owe you an e-mail. Will send one soon.)
ReplyDeleteYour pillow is beautiful and a great finish. I also, do not keep many of my stitching for myself. The very first stitching I made I gave to my Nan as Grandad had just passed away as I finished it. In return, when she passed away, it came back. I might put it my blog tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, enough of my musing.
You have a BRILLIANT site!!
What a gorgeous pillow! I love the color of the fabric and the lovely trim--it really features your stitching beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better very soon.
Great pillow finish. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteGreat finish and the pillow is just perfect! Glad you're enjoying your System 4 stand as much as I'm enjoying my q-snaps. And thanks for the felt tip - I'd been wondering how to handle that.
