Great tutorial, I love these but had no idea how they were made. I can definately see one in my future now :) Thanks for taking the time to write and photograph everything!
Way to go! Love your LHN finish! Thanks to taking on SBEBB! You are the greatest, I blog Carol too, if you need help, just let me know! I'll do what I can! Donna
Thank you for the tutorial Vonna! It's great :) You've received a beautiful exchange and sent wonderful squares. Wow, you had a busy day! I hope your days will be less busy from now on and you'll have time to stitch :)
Thanks for doing this Vonna. I have always wanted to try one of this style and I may just do that one day. Your finished mattress pinkeep is so pretty!
Wow thank you for doing this tutorial! Hopefully this year I will learn new finishes for things as that is my New Year's resolution. These will certainly help me to do that!! You do such beautiful work and I love it!! Debby :)
What beautiful photos you take--and the pinkeep is wonderful also. And I got the A Mon Ami Pierre in the newsletter from ABC stitch, and I was sunk also... Sigh. I wonder if it's done in DMC at least.
Really great tutorial Vonna. Can I ask why you use the interfacing? I have made several mattress style pincushions and never used interfacing. Also, I stitch four stripes for the sides as I think it makes the corners "sharper" if that makes any sense.
Wohoo! I was wondering how to make these, Vonna! Maybe my BF in quilting and I can try to make one before I ruin a piece of my stitching! Thank you for taking the time to teach us. Love and hugs, Deb
Thanks for that Vonna, I will come back and study it more at coffee time but I think its about time I shut down the computer and got something done lol.
I really appreciate this tutorial. The instructions and pictures are very clear and easy to follow. Thank you so much for taking time to share this with us.
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I think its the best one I've seen. I never would have thought of using the fray check, but it makes so much sense now.
Vonna, my friend, you are amazing. I took a look at this tutorial and you've done it in such a manner that I feel that *I* can actually make one of these! That's saying a lot, since I'm pretty much sewing-deprived. :-)
I've been wanting to make one of these and I figured out the basic idea of it, but your tutorial added in all those little details that I didn't know. I scrolled through you tutorial list and discovered some other gems as well...maybe I'll attempt some of the other finishing techniques now!
Do you mind if I include a link to your tutorial site on my blog? If you'd rather not, then that's fine, I completely understand. I've bookmarked it on my computer for definite future use!
Impressive tutorial ! Simply great step by step with photo. Many will benefit it. I'm sure there will be loads of mattress pincushion to drool over after seeing your tut! Thanks for sharing your great work.

ReplyDeleteThat looks so easy!! But, two questions for the novice finisher:
