Week #6 of stitching Ink Circles ~ Cerque de Cercles. I FINALLY got that large motif done. It reminds me of lilly pads...that's what I envisioned when I was "coloring" my pattern and it looks on fabric just how I had it envisioned in my mind. It's always a happy thing when it turns out that way.
SO there ya go for this week. :)
I don't work this weekend, thank heavens, so we'll see what sort of trouble I can get myself into.
Have a good one! Stitch Happy!
Vonna,
ReplyDeleteYou're right about the lilly pad. It is simply gorgous! I'm so happy that it's turning out the way you wanted it to. I can't remember what fibers you're using, but they sure are lovely. Have a wonderful weekend girlfriend
Great job Vonna! I've ben watching that motif grow and love it. I really owe the Snowbird SAL blog a picture update, but keep forgetting to take one.

ReplyDeleteVonna, your CdC is so neat, I love seeing what color is going to come next! My favorite motif is the little one with pink in it. I think when you finish-you will have a most unique CdC.

ReplyDeleteDont cause too much damage this weekend ;)
Have fun!!
This is going to be a stunning piece Vonna! You're making great progress, and I still admire you for even attempting on the black fabric!

ReplyDeleteOh that is really so pretty!! I love the colors that you have chosen. I am not sure I could choose them as well as you have but am tempted to try sometime. I haven't done any of Ink Circles but am very tempted to try a new one they just came out with on black fabric too. This one you are doing is just awesome!! Debby :)

What I love the most about your piece is that we never know what colour will pop up next! It's just so neat to watch the progress of the design.
ReplyDeleteBTW Vonna, wherever do you find the lovely pictures you add to your blog? They really add such a personal touch.

ReplyDeleteYour colours on this look so pretty and really stand out so nicely :) It looks a long haul (too scary for me ;-) LOL but it will be so worth it to get this finished and you look to be progressing pretty quickly with it :-)

It's totally beautiful, Vonna. The colors really "pop" on the black fabric!
ReplyDeleteHi, Vonna, your CdC is just amazing! I love the colors - they are lovely, and really give a different "feel" to the piece.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend! Margaret
Wow Vonna! That is gorgeous! Those colors are fantastic and I love the black backround! Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteI love your colour choice on CDC - it really pops against the black fabric.
ReplyDeleteHi Vonna,
ReplyDeleteJust catching up with my blog reading. Your CdC is really looking lovely. The colours that you are using really standout from the black. Do you find it easy to sew on the black material. - Have a lovely week - Sandra.
This is my first visit to your blog, but I'm adding you to my reader. This is the first version of CDC that I've seen with multiple colors, and it's great! Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to watching it grow
ReplyDeleteVonna,
ReplyDeleteI love your tutorials. You do a wonderful job. I have a question regarding the cording. How do you finish pieces with cording and make the ends look neat. I am having trouble with this and yours look so nice. Please help!
Hi Vonna,
ReplyDeleteHmmm....lilypads...know what you get when you have lily pads?? Frogs!! Beware! Perhaps it looks more like a nice, safe, green fern?? What do you think Vonna?
CdC is coming along beautifully. Are you picking out the colours yourself? Every time that I see this design being stitched, in whatever colourway the stitcher has chosen to use, I LOVE it!! Oh dear.
The Frosty Friends door hanger that Jeanne stitched and sewed and quilted for you (!!) is beautiful. I've never seen anything finished like that before. Love the tassel hanging on the end and the fabrics that she chose to back and finish this off with. What a treasure.
That new design from Mon Ami Pierre is incredible. No wonder you want to start it right away. I love the fox design on it. And the sheep too. And the lacey bits.
How lovely to receive all the necessary materials to stitch a design. Cathy B. is a very generous soul. Everyone who's stitched this design has enjoyed it.
The square that you stitched for AmySC and the pinkeep that you made for Susan are both beautiful and I love your experimentation with the arranging of the pins on the pinkeep. I love that Sugared Coffee fabric that you stitched the PS square on. The colours of the design look fabulous on it.
I really like that winter farm scene that you use in the left hand top side of your blog. It's very pretty.
Gotta go, Phoebe won't let me type anymore. Cheers.
Vonna, Just visited Marie's blog~the pinkeep you stitched for her birthday is BEAUTIFUL!! I told Marie, I knew who stitched it before I read her message..your work is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteMichelle :)
Wow! Yeah I never "saw" that as lilly pads!
